Review: SOMETHING ROTTEN! at Haddonfield Plays & Players is Anything But Rotten

Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom (CJ Kish and Brian Herrick) are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as 'The Bard.' When a local soothsayer (Joe Carlucci) foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.

TITANIC: THE MUSICAL U.K. Tour Coming to Theaters This Fall

The filmed capture of the U.K. tour of Titanic the Musical is coming to theaters. The production was filmed over the summer prior to its July closing. Titanic: the Musical joins Fathom Events' exciting lineup of filmed musical theatre productions coming to theaters this fall, also including Waitress on Broadway coming to theaters in December.

Review: Learn ENGLISH at The Alliance

AS YOU LIKE IT Comes to Long Beach Playhouse in September

William Shakespeare wrote As You Like it in 1599. Themes include class distinctions, family rivalries, love, forgiveness, envy, and gender. Much of it takes place in a place called the Forest of Arden. The show’s director Michael Hernandez-Phillips, adapted the play, moved the forest to Central Park in the 1950s.

Free Jazz Concert Comes to NP10 Governors Island This Month

Arts for Art has announced a new partnership with the West Harlem Art Fund to present In Gardens at Governors Island. In Gardens at Governors Island will feature two afternoons of FreeJazz performances, Melanie Dyer's Siren Xypher on August 26th and Alexis Marcelo Trio on August 27th.

Interview: David Hunt Stafford on PLAYS IN REP & READING SERIES at Theatre 40

David Hunt Stafford (pictured) is the Artistic Director and Managing Director of Theatre 40, posts he has proudly held since 2000 at the professional theater company located on the campus of Beverly Hills High School. I decided to speak with David about the current plays running in rep during July and August: Doris and Ivy in the Home, in which he appears, and One Moment of Freedom which he produces; and the group’s ongoing Reading Series showcasing new and well-known plays read by company members.

DORIS AND IVY IN THE HOME Opens July 20 At Theatre 40

Doris and Ivy in the Home, a comedy, written by Norm Foster and directed by Warren Davis will play at Theatre Forty, 241 S, Moreno Drive, in the Mary Levin Cutler Theatre (same venue, new name), Beverly Hills, CA 90212.
