The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the Graduate Center, CUNY has unveiled the artist lineup and program schedule for the highly anticipated PRELUDE.12, the ninth annual PRELUDE festival dedicated to artists at the forefront of contemporary New York City theatre, dance, interdisciplinary and mediatized performance. In its largest lineup ever, PRELUDE.12 will present over 40 short performances, readings, and screenings -as well as panel discussions with artists, scholars and performers.
Like some of her major inspirations and influences-Sophie Tucker, Patti LuPone, Richard Pryor, John Beluschi and Freddy Mercury-Everett is a true original who has carved out a space in New York City's bustling cabaret, comedy and theater worlds that is all her own. Graham Bailey, Tony Castellanos, Ashley Klanac, Rob Lorey, Megan Meyer, Molly Pope, Jeannie Schubitz, and Jacob L. Smith are either reporting on these happenings, trying to steal the proceeds or trying to re-arrest the felons. Musicals Tonight's show runs tonight, October 2 to the 14th, 2012.
A bevy of fabulous Broadway, Off-Broadway and Downtown performers gather together raise funds and awareness at OVER IT! A Benefit For Ovarian Cancer Awareness. Held at the Laurie Beechman Theater, whose namesake lost her battle with ovarian cancer, the evening's proceeds will go to the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative. OVER IT! will take place tonight, September 24th, 2012.
