So, when the kindly doorman at The Triad agrees to step in and play St. Nick, Johnnie hires him on the spot. There's only one problem: this new friend seems to think he actually is Father Christmas and Johnnie stopped believing in Santa decades ago.

Treehouse Shakers Will Present HATCHED

Hatched, written and directed by Mara McEwin, is the original performance of a newborn chick emerging from her shell at sunrise to a strange and busy world. Told to the youngest of audience members 0-6, it is a first introduction into the theatre, while incorporating both the museum and farm. Performed through movement, handcrafted puppets, and very little human dialogue, the story is set amidst an American family farm. The chick is met by a feisty old rooster, a wobbly calf learning to walk, a gaggle of dancing chicks, a lamb, and a noisy nest of baby birds.

Vineyard Theatre Extends Colman Domingo's DOT

Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th Street) announced today that its production of DOT by Colman Domingo will extend its limited engagement through Thursday, March 24. Five performances are being added to the previously announced run, along with a special private student matinee performance as part of The Vineyard's education program. Directed by Susan Stroman, DOT opened Tuesday, February 23 with Charles Isherwood of The New York Times declaring it a Critics' Pick and calling it "Uproariously funny! Deeply moving!" and adding, "The cast is terrific."
