GOD BLESS AMERICA: THE MUSIC OF Irving Berlin FEAT. Kenita Miller, Quentin Earl Darrington, AND MORE, JULY 5 AT 9:30PM

Jerome Kern once said, "Irving Berlin has no place in American music. He IS American music!" And no one less than Isaac Stern said, "America's music was born at his piano." From "Alexander's Ragtime Band' to "White Christmas," and from "Always" to "Easter Parade," Berlin also had his finger on the pulse of the nation.

At Feinstein's/54 Below we will honor what's best in America - our people, our talent, our generosity, our spirit - and all of it in the extraordinary music of Mr. Berlin. It was Berlin who desegregated Broadway when he hired Ethel Waters to star in the first mixed race show - his show, in his theater - in 1933. It was Irving Berlin who stood tall in the late 1930's to rally America with "God Bless America" as storm clouds gathered over Europe. And it was Irving Berlin who took the famous words written on The Statue of Liberty and wrote a stirring song about what America means to the world!

Will this be a patriotic show at Feinstein's/54 Below? Yes, in the most encompassing and embracing way possible. Will this be an entertaining show? Of course it will; As Jerome Kern also said, "I don't know anyone who sits down to write a hit song except Irving Berlin; he can't help writing hits!" And will this show celebrate the July 4th holiday spirit? Well, when it comes to Irving Berlin and holiday songs, Oscar Hammerstein II said, "You can't have a holiday without his permission."

NYC impresario, Scott Siegel, will assemble an extraordinary cast of Broadway and nightclub stars to celebrate America through the music of Irving Berlin. Siegel has created more than 300 major concerts throughout the world, including writing, directing and producing concerts for Michael Feinstein. He is, perhaps, best known as the creator, writer, director, and host of Town Hall's signature series, Broadway by the Year.

Come join us and celebrate Irving Berlin's - and your - America!

Join us at Feinstein's/54 Below for a thrilling evening featuring the songs of Oceanborn, performed in concert by the writers. Oceanborn was created through the collaboration of two teenage women, a composer and playwright, writing of the mythic female heroes of ages past. The youngest duo on the New York Theatre scene, Cameron & Smith's work has been lauded as "revelatory" and "the future of Broadway."

Oceanborn follows two young women as they face the pressures and expectations of future leadership in a climate of violence and uncertainty. Acerbic wit balanced with heartrending poignancy, this musical tackles the cyclic nature of violence and xenophobia head on. Mhairi Cameron, composer and head lyricist, has won national awards in poetry and has worked professionally in television and film. Morgan Smith, book writer and co-lyricist, is a novelist and playwright whose writings have been published in the US and internationally, and recognized at the Yale and Kenyon Writer's Conferences. In an unforgettable premiere of the new Cameron & Smith musical, experience a debut sung-through concert of the show that has already garnered an avid fan base!

Morgan and Mhairi will be joined by their sister Hannah Cameron in this performance of Oceanborn.

A house-filling favorite in Las Vegas since she opened in June 2000, Rudner is known for her epigrammatic one-liners. Over the course of a fourteen year run and 2,000 plus shows, she has sold one and a half million tickets and become the longest-running solo comedy show in the history of Las Vegas, even being named Las Vegas' Comedian Of The Year nine years in a row.

Rita Rudner moved to New York at the age of fifteen to become a dancer on Broadway. She appeared in several shows, including the original productions of Follies and Mack and Mabel. It was while in Annie on Broadway that she began exploring the comedy clubs of Manhattan. In the early '80s, Rudner took a full-time leap from chorus lines to punch lines and was soon a regular guest on both "Late Night With David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show."

Rita's first solo HBO special, "Rita Rudner's One Night Stand," was nominated for several awards, as was her eponymous English BBC television show that later appeared in the USA on A&E. Rudner's two one-hour specials for HBO filled Carnegie Hall in New York three times and the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles twice. In 2008, "Rita Rudner: Live From Las Vegas" was PBS's first ever stand-up comedy special.

Rudner is a frequent collaborator with her writer/producer husband of twenty six years, Martin Bergman. The couple's first play - Room 776 - ran as part of the 2008 season of the Las Vegas Little Theatre. Their second play, based on Rita's first novel Tickled Pink, premiered at the Laguna Playhouse in April 2012. Pump Boys And Dinettes, a band as well as a show, ran for 577 performances on Broadway in 1982-83 while earning a Tony nomination for Best Musical. The original cast-Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, Jim Wann, John Foley, John Schimmel, and the late Mark Hardwick-were downtown New Yorkers with Southern musical roots who created "a singular mixture of country-pop concert and musical theatre... [the show] doesn't merely celebrate the value of friendship and life's simple pleasures, it embodies them" (Stephen Holden, The New York Times).

Now, for the first time since their Broadway run, the creators of this pioneering work for actor-musicians will be onstage together to play and sing their score and tell their stories. Bob Stillman will join on piano, and yes-there will be a Pump Boys raffle! It's been 37 years - now join the original Pump Boys & Dinettes for an unforgettable reunion concert!

$35-$50 cover charge. $75-$80 premium seating. $25 food & beverage minimum.

Mike Wartella, JULY 24 AT 9:30PM

Broadway's Mike Wartella returns to Feinstein's/54 Below for a night of rock and roll, original music, and Broadway favorites reimagined. Mike, who is a singer/songwriter at heart, will fill the evening with brand new original music straight from his new debut solo album, as well as some old Broadway favorites done with a folk/rock twist. As a Broadway veteran, Mike has been seen playing children in Tuck Everlasting, Wicked, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. His powerful, edgy voice, hardly matches his youthful type, so Mike is taking to the Feinstein's/54 Below stage to lead you through an evening, much closer to his grown up rocker roots, that will be sure to thrill and entertain. From his folk covers of "Pure Imagination" and "She Used to be Mine," to his high-octane covers of "Midnight Radio" and "Lover You Should've Come Over," this is a show you won't want to miss!

There will be special appearances from The Skivvies, Broadway actors Aaron LaVigne and Andrea Laxton, and the band will be composed of Mike's childhood friends, Alex Hayes (bass), and Jake Robinson (drums).

$30-$40 cover charge. $65 premium seating. $25 food & beverage minimum.
