Brent Cobb’s anticipated new album, Southern Star, is out now via Ol’ Buddy Records/Thirty Tigers. Produced by Cobb (his first self-produced album) and recorded at Macon’s famed Capricorn Sound Studios, Southern Star is a love-letter to Cobb’s southern roots, filled with the sounds and stories of his home state of Georgia.
Mercury Nashville / Range Music recording artist Luke Grimes has released the song, “Burn,” from his forthcoming eight-song EP, Pain Pills Or Pews, which comes out October 20. Written by Grimes, Randy Montana (Luke Combs, Parker McCollum) and Josh Thompson (Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton), the song was produced by Dave Cobb.

Mercury Nashville / Range Music recording artist Luke Grimes announced that he will be releasing an eight-song EP, Pain Pills Or Pews. Grimes wrote six of the songs on the Dave Cobb produced project. Fans can now pre-save Pain Pills Or Pews. On Friday, Sept. 22, they will be able to download the next track to be released, “Burn.”
The brothers enlisted Mike Elizondo (Sheryl Crow, Turnstile, Dr. Dre, Twenty One Pilots, Lin-Manuel Miranda) to produce, curating his own band of studio musicians, including Paul McCartney’s drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. behind the kit. Miranda Lambert provides the LP’s guest vocals, after co-writing the song with Brothers Osborne and Jesse Frasure.
Channeling classic country-pop with a sultry, rock-n-roll swagger, “I Did It for Love” was co-written with Lucie Silvas (Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Tricia Yearwood) and producer Dustin Ransom (Richard Marx, Chely Wright, Emily West). The hook-filled stomper was inspired by the actions of a fellow artist.
“Wonder Drug” is from McKenna’s new album, 1988, which was released earlier this summer via CN Records/Thirty Tigers. Produced by Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell) and recorded at his studio in Savannah, GA, 1988 is named for the year McKenna married her husband, and serves as a love letter to her family and lifelong friendships. Focus track off the album “Miranda” was inspired by Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash and Beyonce, with those influences also being seen in the upcoming music video for “Miranda” set for release on September 18th. This new album follows the success of previously released singles off the album “Country Club” “One Way Street,” and “Louisiana.'
