Wynn Handman, the famed New York acting teacher and Artistic Director of The American Place Theatre, died at home April 11, 2020 of Covid-19 related pneumonia. He was 97.

The Broad Stage continues its collaboration with Red Hen Press for the second event of the 2019-2020 season, Red Hen Press: Facets of Fatherhood, on Sunday, January 26 at 2:00pm in The Edye at The Broad Stage.  CW Seed, The CW's free, ad-supported digital network, has acquired the second window, non-exclusive streaming rights to 14 series from BBC Studios. The pact will bring more than 200 episodes and 150 hours of scripted library content to the platform. The announcement was made today by Rick Haskins, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Digital Platforms, The CW.

Ensemble Studio Theatre/Los Angeles in association with VS. Theatre Company has announced the world premiere production of The Water Tribe, a new play by Don Cummings. Under the direction of Tricia Small, there will be three preview performances January 10a?"12 and opening is set for Friday, January 17, at 8pm. The engagement will run through February 9 at VS. Theatre.

The 10th annual DTLA Film Festival, Oct. 17-21 at Regal L.A. LIVE in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, announced its 2018 Filmmaker Awards. The two big prize winners were the gender and genre bending contemporary ghost story, "Ocatvio Is Dead!," which picked up the Best Picture and the Best Director awards for Sook-Yin Lee, and Collin Schiffli's drama "All Creatures Here Below," which won the Audience Favorite award and captured the Best Actor prizes for Karen Gillan and David Dastmalchian.

Multi-platinum global superstar and legendary music icon Mariah Carey is set to join NBC's four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" as a key advisor for the Season 15 Knockout Rounds beginning Monday, Oct. 29.  

Gettysburg Community Theatre (GCT) the not-for-profit 501c3 community theatre located at 49 York Street in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present a musical perfect for the whole family, A Year With Frog And Toad, based on the children's books by Arnold Lobel. Each actor is retired or semi-retired ages 55+ and enjoys rehearsing during the day, which then allows the theatre to be available for other rehearsals in the evening of working adults and school children. Past Senior Citizen productions at GCT have been Fiddler On The Roof, Once Upon A Mattress, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Nunsense. This production is made possible in part by grants from the Cultural Alliance of York County, The Robert C. Hoffman Trust held by the Adams County Community Foundation, and the Adams County Arts Council's Star Grant.
