IndieSpace, the League of Independent Theater, and the 14Y Theater will present Indie Theater Week, a week dedicated to supporting and uplifting the independent theater community in New York City.

The newly renovated State Theatre New Jersey presents Broadway's Tony Award-winning musical comedy phenomenon Hairspray for four performances on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 8pm; Saturday, April 30 at 2pm and 8pm; and Sunday, May 1 at 2pm. Tickets range from $40-$98.  

Amy Luckey, President of the Board of Joe Goode Performance Group (JGPG), is pleased to announce the appointment of David Mack as the organization's newest Executive Director.  Mack is moving to the Bay Area from LA to assume the position formally starting November 15. 

HAIRSPRAY, Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical comedy phenomenon, will launch a new North American tour in Fall 2021. The new touring production, which will be helmed by Jack O’Brien and Jerry Mitchell, will visit the North Charleston Performing Arts Center December 11 & 12, 2021.

The cast will be led by Andrew Levitt aka Nina West (from “RuPaul's Drag Race”) as Edna Turnblad, Niki Metcalf as Tracy Turnblad and Toneisha Harris (from NBC's “The Voice”) as Motormouth Maybelle. Additional casting will be announced later.

Adventure Theatre MTC presents their first in-person show of the season, Fairy Tales in the Sun, directed by Stan Kang. The production features two one-act plays, The Future in the Flood, written by Lyra Yang, and From Cinders to Ella, written by Michelle Lynch.

This Sunday, Adventure Theatre will preview Fairy Tales in the Sun. Artistic Director Chil Kong will present clips from rehearsals as well as background on the plays' development and the interaction with the playwrights. Fairy Tales in the Sun features two short, in-person plays: The Flood in the Future and From Cinders to Ella.

Adventure Theatre MTC has announced its first in-person production since the pandemic, with a preview performance on July 10th and opening day July 11th.

Adventure Theatre MTC brings diverse stories to the 2020-2021 Digital Season with Fairy Tale Field Trips. ATMTC commissioned these diverse writers to partner in teams to write short digital presentations based on fairy tales from around the world.

Santa Barbara Dance Theater's artistic director, Christopher Pilafian, brings an outpouring of daring movement and visual invention by masters of the medium. Hatlen Theater from January 16 to 19, 2020.

For 20 years, BAAD! The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance, has presented works that are empowering to women, people of color and LGBTQ people. The organization continues its newest program the TransVisionaries Performance Series, a first-ever, Bronx live performance series featuring transgender and GNC (gender non-conforming artists) in free, open to the public performances in South Bronx restaurants that are turned into one-night art centers. The series began in 2017 and ran through the summer of 2018.

Broadway Dreams kicks off Unplugged, the 2019 Summer Intensive Tour in Atlanta, GA, followed by five U.S. cities, Calgary, Canada and Europa Park in Rust, Germany. In each location, Broadway Dreams will present an incredible roster of top Broadway directors, performers, and industry insiders who will offer highly personalized musical theater training through week-long intensive workshops for students of all ages, skill levels, and socio-economic backgrounds. At week's end, students will perform alongside their Broadway idols in a Broadway style revue open to the public.

Productions new musical, Frankenstein, will begin previews Off-Broadway tonight at 7p, officially opening on October 8 and running through November 13 at the Players Theatre in Greenwich Village, NYC. Dr. Anne McGill-Franzen and Dr. Richard Allington selected American Reading Company (ARC) to provide books for their Summer Slide replication study. McGill-Franzen and Allington's previous longitudinal study in Jacksonville, Florida, proved that giving students books they chose themselves virtually eliminated the summer slide.
