The acclaimed production of Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song ends its run today, January 6, 2019 at the Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street). The play will embark on a national tour launching fall 2019 at Los Angeles' Center Theatre Group at the Ahmanson Theatre. The national tour will star Michael Urie, reprising his lauded Broadway performance as Arnold Beckoff.

The Actors Fund announced today that Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song has donated a block of tickets to their Friday, January 4, 2019 performance at 7:30 pm to benefit The Actors Fund on at the Hayes Theater (240 West 44th St.).

"Torch Song Tea," the monthly cocktails and conversation series for the Broadway community, will welcome leading LGBT chefs and food writers to discuss food and family, on Sunday, December 9 from 6:30 - 8 PM at The Lambs Club (132 West 44th Street).

At last night's performance of Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song, audiences were surprised by a visit from Hillary and Bill Clinton. The pair entered, shaking the hands of audience members, who greeted them with a standing ovation.

Second Stage Theater, now celebrating its 40th Anniversary, just hosted their Fall Benefit yesterday at Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street), honoring Tony Award winner and Second Stage Theater alum Harvey Fierstein. The evening featured performances and appearances by Cyndi Lauper, Billy Porter, Rosie O'Donnell, Annaleigh Ashford, Keala Settle, Wayne Brady, Christopher Sieber, Michael Urie and Marissa Jaret Winokur and the original Hairspray Dynamites.

The play is no longer titled TORCH SONG TRILOGY and the venue is no longer known as The Little Theatre, but there's still a marvelous homecoming taking place at The Helen Hayes, where Second Stage's recent Off-Broadway revival of Harvey Fierstein's groundbreaking TORCH SONG has transferred to the home of its historic original Broadway run.

If you've never heard of Harvey Fierstein, it's a bit hard to explain why. A four time Tony Award winner, Fierstein has had a hand in a seemingly endless list of projects from Hairspray to Kinky Boots to Mulan. Now, he's back on the Broadway marquee with his revamped production of The Torch Song Trilogy.

Show-only tickets to Second Stage Theater's Fall Benefit Honoring Harvey Fierstein are now on sale to the general public.  Hosted by Michael Urie, the benefit will take place on Monday, November 12 at Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street).  The evening will feature performances and appearances by Cyndi Lauper, Rosie O'Donnell, Annaleigh Ashford, Keala Settle, Wayne Brady, Christopher Sieber, Michael Urie, Marissa Jaret Winokur, as well as Shoshana Bean, J. Harvey Fierstein appeared on last night's Watch What Happens Live. He talked about the difference between playing Edna in Hairspray and Albin in La Cage Aux Folles. Fierstein also revealed that he has never seen John Travolta's portrayal of Edna in the Hairspray film.
