The highly anticipated sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue is in development, with Tony-Winner Matthew López returning to write the script, this time alongside Red, White & Royal Blue author, Casey McQuiston. Matthew López made his directorial debut with the first Red, White & Royal Blue film which became the #1 Movie Worldwide on Prime Video last August.

Vancouver Opera will close its 2023-2024 season with Georges Bizet’s opera, Carmen. Carmen is one of the most widely performed works in operatic history and Vancouver audiences will have five opportunities to see this production. 

The honorees have been revealed for the WP Theater 2024 Annual Gala, which include Sutton Foster, LaChanze, and Anne Quart. The event will be hosted by Eden Espinosa  at The Edison Ballroom on Monday, May 20, 2024.

“I think the story is about survival, and about people sheltering one another,” director Mary Birnbaum told me in our conversation about EMIGRÉ, the oratorio that features what she called “composer Aaron Zigman’s sweeping score” and the “complex storytelling” by librettist Mark Campbell and lyricist Brock Walsh. The work makes its US debut on February 29 at the New York Philharmonic in Geffen Hall, under conductor Long Yu.
