Westport Country Playhouse will open A SHERLOCK CAROL, a holiday mystery that blends characters from Arthur Conan Doyle and Charles Dickens. The production features a cast led by James Taylor Odom and runs for eight performances.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage “A Sherlock Carol,” a family-friendly holiday production based on two classic tales, “The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle,” a classic Sherlock Holmes story, and “A Christmas Carol.”

In playwright Mark Shanahan’s clever “A Sherlock Carol,” now at Lyric Stage Boston through December 21, when self-described “consulting detective” Sherlock Holmes hears a knock at his 221B Baker Street door, there’s not a band of Christmas carolers on the other side but rather a visitor seeking his help in investigating the unsolved death of Ebenezer Scrooge.

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, it’s time to dive straight into the Christmas season. What better way to do that than with A Sherlock Carol, back for its third production at the Westport County Playhouse.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand reading of the boundary-breaking, Obie Award-winning play, “What the Constitution Means to Me,“ written by Heidi Schreck, directed by Amanda Charlton, and starring Nina Hellman, Jeremy Shamos, and Jocelyn Shek, on Monday, December 1, at 7 p.m. 

From November 14 - December 6, Different Stages offers an evening of classic mystery and refined theatrical craft in poresnting Mark Shanahan’s adaption of Agatha Christie’s THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD at The VORTEX Theatre in Austin.

Different Stages opens its season with Agatha Christie’s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, adapted for the stage by Mark Shanahan, with Performances at The Vortex Thursdays through Sundays until December 6.

Directed by Ilyse Robbins, the holiday mystery combines the worlds of Sherlock Holmes and A Christmas Carol in a witty, fast-paced production featuring Leigh Barrett, Christopher Chew, Paul Melendy, and more.

Westport Country Playhouse will present Oscar Wilde’s beloved comedy The Importance of Being Earnest from October 28 through November 15, 2025. Directed by Melissa Rain Anderson.
