Gianni Valenti, the music world's gift to New York City, has created another venue for the performing arts. Jim Caruso made it official last night as he introduced Lucie Arnaz, who with her longtime friend and music director Ron Abel thrilled a celebrity filled opening night audience.

Birdland Theater kicked off it's premiere summer season Tuesday night with audience favorite Lucie Arnaz, who also happened to be celebrating a birthday. Lucie's new show, "I Got The Job: Songs From My Musical Past" will take place at 7pm nightly through Saturday, July 21. There was a post-show celebration in the green room, with champagne, cake, singing, reveling and toasts to the birthday girl and new show room.

All the glamour and excitement of a Cafe Carlyle opening night happened last night as Billy Stritch seated at the piano announced, (after the bands opening instrumental 'Lady Be Good') 'Ladies and Gentlemen Linda Lavin!'

Marilyn Maye proudly celebrated her 90th birthday on April 10th by starting the run of her latest show at Feinstein's/54Below. It would be an understatement to say she blew the roof off the sold out room on opening night. (people said it was the loudest cheering they'd ever heard in the club).

The West Bank Cafe/Laurie Beechman Theatre became all PLAID last night in a Benefit For Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and the special production proved that PLAID will happily be on our planet FOREVER! The performance continues for two more nights.

A more accurate announcement was never given by Broadway at Birdland host Jim Caruso as he introduced Christine Ebersole and Billy Stritch, who joined forces for an evening of sensational pop/jazz at The Jazz Corner of The World. The critically acclaimed new Broadway musical THE BAND'S VISIT opened officially just last night, November 9, 2017, at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). BroadwayWorld was on hand for the big night and you can check out photos from the red carpet below!

On September 25, 2017, The New York Pops returned to Feinstein's/54 Below for a cabaret performance starring the Emmy Award-winning TV and Broadway sensation Lucie Arnaz.

Billy Flynn might get all the attention, but Broadway's real, go-to man of the law is Mark Sendroff.

Midnight at The Never Get, the award-winning and critically-acclaimed musical hit of last summer's New York Musical Festival, is enjoying its New England premiere this summer in a co-production by Visceral Entertainment (Michael Chase Gosselin and Tim Sulka) and Dustin Sparks Productions. Linda Lavin returned to the historic Birdland stage last night with a show titled 'My Second Farewell Concert'.  The musicianship and entertainment of her performance will make it very hard for Ms. Lavin in any way have a real 'Farewell Concert'.  More accurately the title should have been one of her prior shows called 'Starting Over.' 

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present singer Nicolas King, along with musical director/pianist Mike Renzi, in a concert celebrating the release of their latest recorded collaboration, 'On Another Note.'  The packed house was treated to a performance of swinging standards sung and played by King, Renzi, bass player Alan Bernstein, and Julie Jacobs on drums.  

Opening night theatre goers celebrated with the Elizabeth Stanley Darnell Abraham, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, David Harris, J. Anthony Crane, Zurin Villanueva, Cast, Creative, Lynn Ahrens, and the staff of Barrington Stage Co. last night and Broadwayworld was there for the festivities.  

Union Street in Pittsfield MA had all the excitement of a Broadway Opening as the Tony Award Winning Ragtime opened on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage of Barrington Stage Co. and Broadway and lyricist Lynn Ahrens were there.

This afternoon, Tony Award winning producer Mike Isaacson (The Humans, Fun Home, Bring it On The Musical, Red, Legally Blonde, Caroline or Change) received the Commercial Theatre Institute's Robert Whitehead Award for Outstanding Achievement in Commercial Theatre Producing. 

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Broadway/cabaret star Karen Mason with a concert celebrating her newest recording, "It's About Time."  

On February 21st and 22nd, TV star Juan Pablo Di Pace will take the stage at New York's 54 Below with a his new show, highlighting his song and dance skills, so far seen in London and Madrid.
