The Seeing Place is presenting a virtual production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.

While the live-performance season is on hold nationwide, The Seeing Place continues to produce great plays by distinguished playwrights. Up next is an online reading of DUTCHMAN, a one-act drama by Amiri Baraka (produced and published in 1964 under the playwright's original name LeRoi Jones).

Fairfield Center Stage, a community theater group, continues its 2019/20 season with a special livestream performance of WIT, May 30, 2020. This performance is in lieu of the postponed run from March due to COVID-19. The production, led by Director Brian Crook (Associate Artistic Director) has obtained special permission by playwright Margaret Edson and Dramatists Play Service to present this special virtual performance.

The Dramatists Guild of America Council has selected Michael R. Jackson as the recipient of the 2019 Hull-Warriner Award, for his musical A Strange Loop. The other finalists for the award were Madeleine George for Hurricane Diane; Stephen Adly Guirgis for Halfway Bitches Go Straight to Heaven and more.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Michael R. Jackson's A Strange Loop has officially won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included: Will Arbery's Heroes of the Fourth Turning and David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori's Soft Power.

Margaret Edson's Pulitzer-Price winning play 'Wit' focusers on Dr. Vivian Bearing, a 50-year-old professor of English who is dying from ovarian cancer. The play examines the dispassionate way cancer patients are treated, with Sindy McKay-Swerdlove delivering a startling and emotional performance as Dr. Bearing.

To kick off its landmark 10th Season, The Seeing Place announces its world premiere adaptation of George Orwell's dystopian novel, ANIMAL FARM. This play is being performed by an ensemble of just four actors, which results in a fast-paced, tightly drawn interpretation of this timely story. This adaptation marks the 75th Anniversary of the book's publishing.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have announced that Sasha Allen and Ana Villafañe will perform at the Manhattan Theatre Club 2019 Fall Benefit, joining previously announced performers Olivier nominee Sierra Boggess, Tony nominee Melissa Errico, Tony nominee Norm Lewis, Tony nominee Patrick Page and Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck.
