Photos: First Look at the UK Tour of UNEXPECTED TWIST

Production photos have been released for The Children’s Theatre Partnership and Royal & Derngate, Northampton’s co-production of Unexpected Twist. It will opened at Royal & Derngate, Northampton on 11 February 2023 and will be embarking on a National Tour from 28 February 2023.

Review: SYLVIA, The Old Vic

In Sylvia, the subject of the show is potentially fascinating, with much comparison to draw to the current day; echoes of recent police brutality against women, the challenges against the right to protest and the fight for equal pay rumble on 100 years later. The show has so much to say, but ends up muffled. Rose

Review: THE BEEKEEPER OF ALEPPO, Nottingham Playhouse

Directed by Miranda Cromwell and adapted by Nesrin Alrefaai and Matthew Spangler, The Beekeeper of Aleppo tells the story of Syrian refugees Nuri (Alfred Clay) and Afra (Roxy Faridany) as they flee their homeland. Lefteri based the original story on her experiences of meeting people in a refuge centre in Athens, and while Beekeeper is not a true tale, 'all stories are true in their own way', as Nuri reminds us.

Review Roundup: THE UNFRIEND at the Criterion Theatre

Following its acclaimed sold-out run at Chichester Festival Theatre, The Unfriend has now opened in the West End for a strictly limited run from 15 January. This riotous dark comedy from writer Steven Moffat and director Mark Gatiss, the award- winning team behind BBC's Sherlock, stars an uproarious cast including Reece Shearsmith, Amanda Abington and Frances Barber. What did the critics think of Steven Moffat's dark comedy?

Review: WATCH ON THE RHINE, Donmar Warehouse

Lillian Hellman’s play is a time capsule of American non-interventionism under the guise of a comedy of manners that suddenly becomes a historical thriller.

2022 Year in Review: Franco Milazzo's Best of 2022

If 2020 was the year theatre ground to a halt and 2021 was when it nervously found its legs again (only to fall over occasionally), then 2022 was when it blasted back to some kind of normal with many pandemic-delayed shows finally seeing the inside of a venue.

Review: DOLLY PARTON'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS CAROL, Queen Elizabeth Hall

How much does the world love Dolly Parton? Let us count the ways. She gave $1m to help fund the Moderna vaccine which has saved around two million lives, she started up in 2007 the Imagination Library which every month now donates more than 40,000 books across the UK and she wrote “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You” on the same day.

2022 Year in Review: Aliya Al-Hassan's Best of 2022

2022 started with the UK fighting with Covid's Omicron variant, which was not really conducive to much theatrical mingling. However, much of the theatre world ralied, as it always does, to bring us some juicy shows and sparkling performances.

Review: MOTHER GOOSE, Theatre Royal Brighton

As a self-professed panto enthusiast, Mother Goose has never been a favourite of mine...until now. This high profile production written by Jonathan Harvey is a super smart interpretation which has been updated sympathetically for 2022 without losing the original intent.
