FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME, the hip-hop improv show, plays its final Broadway performance today, January 12, 2020 at the Booth Theatre, after 23 previews and 118 regular performances.

FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME, the hip-hop improv show created by Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Anthony Veneziale in 2004 before In The Heights and Hamilton, has recouped its investment after only 14 weeks!

Olney Theatre Center kicks off the decade with a production of Quiara Alegría Hudes' newest musical, Miss You Like Hell on the Mainstage (January 29 - March 1, 2020). Hudes, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and Lin-Manuel Miranda's collaborator on the book and film of In The Heights, wrote the book and shares credit for the lyrics with folk-rock star Erin McKeown who also wrote the music. Lisa Portes and Breon Arzell make their Olney Theatre debuts as director and choreographer, respectively. Press is invited to attend the performance on Saturday, February 1 at 8:00 pm.

Vanguard Theater Company will present Spring Awakening, by Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, for four performances only on January 17-19 at the American Theater for Actors, 314 W 54th Street, NY, NY.

The Town Hall & Mark Cortale continue with the latest installment of the internationally acclaimed concert series Seth Rudetsky's Broadway, hosted and music directed by Sirius/XM Radio star Seth Rudetsky at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street). On Monday, February 3rd, Seth welcomes Broadway and television star Patina Miller. Patina won the Tony® Award for her role in Pippin and co-starred in the CBS series 'Madam Secretary.'

Joe's Pub, a program and venue of The Public Theater, has announced the new class of Joe's Pub Working Group (JPWG), the venue's artist development program dedicated to enhancing the career sustainability and growth of performing artists. Entering its sixth year, JPWG welcomes five artists - cabaret artist Salty Brine, vocalist and composer Sarah Elizabeth Charles, musician and musical theater composer Jaime Lozano, Indian classical and crossover vocalist Roopa Mahadevan, and singer-songwriter Kirsten Maxwell - into the group, which represents the diversity and scope of the nightly programming at Joe's Pub.

Producer Jeffrey Seller and Broadway Grand Rapids announce a digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show's first performance (January 21) in Grand Rapids at DeVos Performance Hall. Forty (40) tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each. The digital lottery will open at 11:00 AM on January 19 for tickets to the Tuesday, January 21 performance. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin two days prior to each performance.

Over the holiday Lin-Manuel Miranda made a return trip to Aladdin on Broadway. He stopped backstage afterwards to say hello to cast members Jacob Gutierrez and his former In the Heights co-star Arielle Jacobs.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Miguel Cervantes will be joining the Broadway company of Hamilton, taking over the role of Alexander Hamilton, fresh off of his run in the Chicago production of the hit musical.

Last night, Michelle Williams won the 2020 Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for playing Gwen Verdon in the FX series Fosse/Verdon. In her speech, Williams advocated for a woman's right to choose and implored women to vote in the 2020 election.
