This is not a “Best Of” list because it isn’t for me to say what is best, only what resonated with me, but after a lot, a lot, a lot of shows, this New Year's Eve, these shows are still on my mind.

The Wick Theatre will present a New Year's Eve party and performance. The spotlight concert will start at 10:30 on The Wick’s main stage featuring singer Erich Bergen, star of Broadway (Chicago, Waitress), Hollywood (Jersey Boys), and TV (Madame Secretary, The Good Fight, Bull).

In her most recent appearance at Carnegie Hall Audra McDonald reached the heights of entertainment excellence.

The Wick Theatre and Museum Club is going global this New Year's Eve! The recently redesigned venue will offer an incomparable celebration to ring in 2023. From an immersive international dining experience to a concert by Broadway, film, & TV star Erich Bergen, this extravaganza will impress Father Time!

The gala honored musical theater legend Leslie Uggams  with the 2022 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theater, which will be presented by Dionne Warwick. Ted Chapin was also honored with The York Theatre Company Founders' Award, presented by his daughters Anika and Zoë Chapin. Shoshana Bean, Lilli Cooper, Jared Grimes and Christine Pedi have joined the roster of performers for a concert celebration at the 30th Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala, which will honor musical theater legend Leslie Uggams with the 2022 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theater, which will be presented by Dionne Warwick.

A recipient of the 2022 Tony Awards Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work.

Earlier this week, The Nederlander Organization unveiled the new Lena Horne Theatre in honor of the iconic entertainer and civil rights activist. The York Theatre Company has announced the roster of performers for a concert celebration at the 30th Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala, which will take place on Monday evening, November 14, 2022 at The Edison Rooftop.

Skylight Music Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for A Jolly Holiday: Celebrating Disney’s Broadway Hits, running November 18 – December 31, 2022.

54 BELOW will welcome Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams. The Broadway icon and critical darling is back on the 54 stage November 10-12 at 7:00pm.

The York Theatre Company will honor Tony Award-winning musical theater icon Leslie Uggams (Hallelujah, Baby!, Anything Goes, Thoroughly Modern Millie) with the 2022 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theater and Ted Chapin with The York Theatre Company Founders’ Award at the 30th Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala.

 Broadway Black presents The 2nd Annual Antonyo Awards, which honors Black theatre artists during the 2021-2022 season. The live, in-person ceremony will be held on Monday, October 10 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem (253 West 125th Street). Awards in 29 competitive categories and five honorary categories will be presented along with performances and guest appearances. 

Theater Resources Unlimited will present Meet the Coaches, during which actors can meet more than 10 monologue and music coaches, plus accompanists, who will share their methods and then meet individuals in breakout rooms.

Arts Center Management, a multi-platform theatre management company, will partner with the City of Lauderhill to produce the Broadway at LPAC Series at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in 2023. The blockbuster three-show season kicks off in January 2023. This year's lineup will feature the smash hit musicals The Full Monty, 42nd Street and Always... Patsy Cline!

Season of Concern, the emergency fund for Chicago theater artists, will present a one-night-only benefit performance of Jerry’s Girls, with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, concepts by Larry Alford, Wayne Cilento, and Jerry Herman, direction by Ken-Matt Martin, and musical direction by Nigel D. Robinson.

MOSSO, the Musicians of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, will celebrate the music of legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim on Thursday, June 23, at 7:30 PM in Springfield Symphony Hall. The Sondheim Celebration, conducted by Tim Stella, will feature Broadway stars Hugh Panaro and Lisa Vroman.
