Broadway came back last night with more razzle dazzle than ever. After an 18-month long shutdown, four Broadway musicals re-opened last night, and one of them was the Tony Award-winning, record-breaking hit musical Chicago. Watch below as director Walter Bobbie tribute the late, great Ann Reinking before the show, the company takes the stage for 'All That Jazz', and takes their first bows since March 2020.

For years, my mother and I have volunteered as ushers at a local theatre. I know some of the folks who perform there, and it's a great way to see their shows for free. As soon as I stepped into the theatre, a surreal feeling washed over me. Standing in an actual brick and mortar theater was overwhelming. As I showed patrons to their (socially distanced) seats, I got more and more excited.

This past weekend, Two River Theater kicked off their summer season with the brand-new Plaza Players Series featuring Tony-Nominated writer and composer Joe Iconis (Be More Chill, Love in Hate Nation), Lauren Marcus (Be More Chill, Love in Hate Nation) and band members Seth Eliser (ONCE), Eric William Morris (Be More Chill, The Ballad of Little Jo, Songbird), and Nygel D. Robinson (Beau: The Musical).

I was not in the audience of the St. James. I was somewhere better: Redbank, New Jersey to be exact. I was there for the second show in a series of concerts featuring Joe Iconis and Lauren Marcus. This show was part of Two River Theater's Plaza Players series, which takes advantage of their newly renovated outdoor plaza space.
