And just like all of us, I wondered how they are dealing with the abrupt end of productions in which they were involved. This Spotlight focuses on Suzanne Mayes, who started out thinking she would pursue the stars as an astronaut and wound up shining onstage!

This morning as I was compiling my Spotlight Series on Bill Wolski and his equally talented wife Holly Baker Kreiswirth of Little Fish Theatre in San Pedro, Bill shared an amazingly wonderful description of the ever-so-fleeting magic of performing live theatre which brings a playwright's scripts to life and often unites a cast as life-long friends. His post centers on his first-hand experience in the Little Fish production of THE COUNTRY HOUSE by Donald Margulies, which was directed by Holly and featured a talented cast of six, including Belinda Howell. Frannie Morrison, Richard Perloff, Maire-Rose Pike, Patrick Vest and Bill Wolski. And his post speaks so clearly to me that I immediately reached out to him, and have been given permission to share his words as a Spotlight Series today.

This Spotlight focuses on multi-talented actor, singer, director, composer, teacher and sound designer Doug Mattingly, most recently involved with the production of Sarah Ruhl's 'Dead Man's Cell Phone' at Little Fish Theatre in San Pedro.

The biggest little theatre festival in the world just got bigger as the original Sydney festival doubles the fun from next week onwards!

Musicals and video games have similar baggage. Both are often accused of being facile, low brow and simplistic. Both are seemingly codified or evaluated using only a handful of the most shiny and famous examples. Both are widely misunderstood.

ANDTheatre Company is pleased to announce the 13th Annual 'Eclectic Evening of Shorts: Boxers and Briefs,' running from February 28th-March 8th at Theatre 54 at Shetler Studios. Sixteen new plays will be performed in two groups ('Boxers' and 'Briefs') over the course of eight evenings. Between short plays, solo performances, and even a multimedia painting exposition with a dramatic thrust, these new evenings of shorts certainly live up to their 'eclectic' name!

Cape May Stage- Join Cape May Stage on Sunday, January 26th from 10:30 am -2:30 pm as Fins Bar & Grille opens its doors to help raise money through their Sunday Social Event. WinterFest 2020 is EST/LA's annual 4-week festival of play readings and projects.  Come and see new plays as they are being developed.

The Black Box New Play Festival is Gallery Players' signature festival of new works by both new and established playwrights, featuring world premieres of new comedies and dramas. Now in its 23rd year, the festival will premiere 18 new plays over the course of three weekends. The festival opens Thursday, January 9 and runs through January 26, with a new collection of plays presented each week. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30PM, and Sundays at 3PM. There will be a talk back with the playwrights directly after the Sunday matinees.

The Stray Kats Theatre Company presents the 3rd Annual 'Still Crazy After All These Years!" festival of one-act plays celebrating the lives of today's senior citizens; healthier, more active and engaged than ever before. The Newtown Festival consists of eight new one-act plays culled from over 130 submissions, showing passionate, lively seniors whose lives have taken interesting new twists and turns.

A cast of 32 local actors directed by eight local directors will present 'Sauk Shorts,' an evening of 12 short plays at The Sauk, Hillsdale County's community theatre. Performances are this weekend only, April 25-28.

Moving On: The 2019 One Acts features a mix of established playwrights and exciting, emerging younger talent. Here's the program:

Google Developer Advocate Ben Morss and New Jersey Deputy District Attorney Kenneth Levine will delve into questions of internet privacy, cybersecurity, and how much your mobile phone really knows about you at the Luna Stage World Premiere of Christina Gorman's Roan @ The Gates. The two guests will take the stage following two performances: Saturday, February 9 at 8pm and Sunday, February 17 at 3pm.

Developing new voices in theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA draws from a wealth of talent, which includes NYFA, NEA, Guggenheim, Obie, Emmy and Writers Guild Award winners. Launchpad offers seven full-length plays, and four short plays. This series is a showcase of plays in long-term development from EST/LA's Playwrights Unit and New West playwrights.

The Pittsburgh New Works Festival (PNWF) has announced its line-up for their 28th season of presenting world premiere plays to Pittsburgh audiences. The 2018 Festival includes 18 new plays presented by one of 18 Pittsburgh-region theater companies.

Producer Michael Goldstein and Host and Moderator Rabbi Ed Feinstein bring six ten-minute comedies and dramas to Valley Beth Shalom on Thursday, May 17th, 2018 at 7:30pm. The plays are all inspired by the theme of Jewish Love and Marriage and admission is FREE for the entire community.
