BMI Announces Programming For 2020 Sundance Film Festival

BMI® (Broadcast Music, Inc.®) is proud to announce its programming for the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Highlights include the 22nd edition of the Composer/Director Roundtable “Music & Film: The Creative Process” on Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Kimball Arts Center, followed by the 18th annual BMI Snowball on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at The Shop. Throughout the years, both events have always brought in a full house of attendees that includes a mixture of emerging composers, directors, songwriters, industry tastemakers and music fans.

G. Love Releases 'The Juice' ft. Marcus King

Today, G. Love released the title track off his new Keb' Mo'-produced album The Juice, which releases on January 17 via Philadelphonic/Thirty Tigers. Written by Keb' Mo' and G. Love, and also featuring rising star Marcus King, “The Juice” is a hopeful protest song that acts as a rallying cry for those who are fighting for equality. Along with the new track, G. Love has also released an animated video with characters depicting both himself and King, which was featured this morning via American Blues Scene.

G. Love Announces New Keb' Mo'-Produced Album 'The Juice' Out Jan. 17

Eclectic blues/hip-hop artist G. Love has announced the January 17 release of The Juice via Philadelphonic/Thirty Tigers, and a 2020 tour in support. Co-produced and co-written with four time Grammy award-winner Keb' Mo', The Juice is an electrifying album that features a slew of special guests including Robert Randolph, Marcus King and Roosevelt Collier. Along with the announcement today, Rolling Stone Country has premiered the album's debut track 'Go Crazy' featuring Keb' Mo' during '...one of his most prolific periods to date.'

UK born singer-songwriter Leanne Tennant has shared the video for her current single 'Bring it All Back'. Directed by Jennifer Embelton, 'Bring It All Back' is the second track off the forthcoming album, recorded and produced by Konstantin Kersting (Tia Gostelow, The Belligerents, Mallrat) in Brisbane, Australia, and mastered by Steve Smart at 301 Studios (Dean Lewis, Empire of the Sun, Flume). 'Bring It All Back' follows 'Cherry Cola', the stellar first single from her highly anticipated new album, which premiered and gained high rotation on Double J Radio. Leanne has received support from the likes of Rolling Stone, CLASH Magazine, Atwood Magazine, Popdust, Tonspion, Iggy Magazine, AU Review (Australian Artists Of The Year), BBC Radio 6's Tom Robinson and Mark Riley, BBC Introducing Merseyside, Amazing Radio's Charlie Ashcroft, and Triple J Unearthed. 'Bring It All Back' is currently on rotation on Australia's National radio station Double J and has received support from Triple J. Her talents have been showcased at a number of festivals, including BIGSOUND and the 2018 Commonwealth Games and she is looking forward to bringing her live sound to the UK in May 2020.

Peace Center Announces Songwriters Concert Series And Workshop Series For 2019-2020

Greenville favorite Edwin McCain and accomplished songwriter Maia Sharp return for the Peace Center's Songwriters Concert Series and Workshop Series. Each concert brings a new guest singer-songwriter to the Upstate for an intimate one-of-a-kind listening room experience in Genevieve's theater lounge at the Peace Center. The guest artists will also join McCain and Sharp for a four-part Workshop Series.

Local artists include the Honolulu Jazz Quartet, Henry Kapono presenting his Artist 2 Artist Concert Series featuring Blayne Asing, Elijah Sky and Mike Lewis's 2nd Annual Tribute to the Great City of New York. The Blue Note Comedy Series continues with comedian Esther Ku and '90s Alternative super group 10,000 Maniacs makes their Blue Note debut. We're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Eddie Ortiz & Son Caribe and Yvette Moore presents a tribute to Gloria Estefan. Stef Mariani's invites you to her album release celebration of 'Highway of Love' and local favorites Good Foot Hawaii! take the stage. The Hawaii News Now Jazz Legends Series continues with Keiko Matsui and Lightnin' Larry Dupio presents an eclectic night of traditional and original Big Island blues. Willie K returns, electric blues guitar powerhouse Robben Ford takes the stage and the month rounds out with singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin.

'Grief is a lonesome but loyal friend. I lost a brother when I was seventeen. His name was Jay. He was three years younger than me and was born paralyzed from the chest down. He was an incredible person, full of joy and laughter in the face of a life of physical trials that most humans will never encounter. I started writing songs in college as a way to deal with the loss. In those early years, I only wrote one song explicitly about him, and have struggled to do it again in the following fourteen years. 

Celebrated Blues Veteran Arthur Adams Returns On A Mission To Share His Special Blend Of Soul-Filling Blues On New Album

Arthur Adams has had a musical career that would make even the hardest blues cynic smile. Beginning as a solo artist in the '60s and '70s, Adams quickly made a name for himself as both an exceedingly talented songwriter as well as a riveting performer. His list of collaborators includes such luminaries as B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt (on her Grammy award-winning album Nick Of Time), Nina Simone, Keb' Mo', Dr. John, Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia, and many others. In recent years, he has teamed with Los Angeles indie label Cleopatra Records for reissues of his early albums as well as 2017's Look What The Blues Has Done For Me and a special guest appearance this year on the new Mitch Ryder album Detroit Breakout! And on July 19, Adams will release his newest effort Here To Make You Feel Good, which will be available on CD and digital everywhere!

“End of the World” – an electrified clarion call for unity, community, and revelry in the upside-down world of today –  is the latest single from Holcomb's forthcoming albumDragons, due out August 16, 2019 via Thirty Tigers. The track was co-written with fellow Nashville songwriter Sean McConnell (Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw) and forced Holcomb out of his comfort zone and into new vocal and melodic heights: “Sometimes throwing a party is the only way to fight off the darkness, and I wanted it to be an epic, boisterous, raise-your-glass-and-yell-with-me anthem.”

Geva Theatre Center Presents The World Premiere Of REVIVAL

Geva Theatre Center's 46th Season concludes with the world premiere of Revival: The Resurrection of Son House, written and directed by Keith Glover, with music by Son House, Billy Thompson and Keith Glover, musical direction by Billy Thompson and choreography by Norwood Pennewell, in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from May 1 through June 2, 2019.
