IAMA Theatre Company has joined forces with ScreenCraft to present the third annual Stage Play Writing Competition. IAMA co-artistic director Stefanie Black will join a jury of industry professionals to help choose the winning script, which will receive a $1,000.00 cash prize; be circulated to Screencraft's network of playwrights, theater companies, producers, literary managers, agents and award-winning writers; and be given a weeklong workshop, produced by IAMA and culminating in a reading before an audience of writers and entertainment industry professionals.

IAMA Theatre Company has named playwright Ryan J. Haddad as the 2020 recipient of the Rhimes Unsung Voices Playwriting Commission. Richard Raymond's 'A Million Eyes' shares the story of a young photographer, grappling with his mother's alcoholism, who sets out to capture something he loves with the help of a mentor. The film introduces 13-year-old Elijah M. Cooper in his debut film role and highlights the importance of the arts education and mentors in young people's lives.
Center Theatre Group has selected two local productions for the fourth annual Block Party: Celebrating Los Angeles Theatre at the Kirk Douglas Theatre from March 18 through April 19, 2020. Block Party 2020 will remount Sacred Fools Theater Company's a?oeThe Art Couplea?? and IAMA Theatre Company's a?oeCanyon.a?? The visiting companies will receive the full support of Center Theatre Group and its staff in order to fund, stage and market each production.
