The American Popular Song Society recently hosted a gala benefit honoring Tony Award nominee Lee Roy Reams and guest photographer Bowie Dunwoody captured it all in their camera's lens.

Olivier winner and Tony nominee Tracie Bennett (Hangmen, End of the Rainbow) and Laiona Michelle (Little Girl Blue, Amazing Grace) have joined the line-up for the 10th annual “Night Of A Thousand Judys.'

Tony nominee Sally Mayes, Bistro winner Nicolas King, Shereen Pimentel, and Bistro winner Amy Jo Jackson (Joe’s Pub) have joined the line-up for the 10th annual “Night Of A Thousand Judys” – the Pride concert to benefit The Ali Forney Center written and hosted by Justin Elizabeth Sayre – at Joe’s Pub on Sunday, June 5.

Karen Mason shares her love of songwriters John Kander and Fred Ebb in her new show, Kander & Ebb…And All That Jazz!  As one of the original stars of the off-Broadway production of And The World Goes ‘Round, Mason has a personal connection to these legends and their music. A night of unforgettable stories, laughter, and music, Including “Ring Them Bells,”  “My Coloring Book,” and “Go Back Home.”  This new show highlights Mason’s vocal prowess, charisma, and overall versatility. Her storytelling is as stellar as her vocals.

The Off-Broadway production of Romeo & Bernadette: A Musical Tale of Verona and Brooklyn, with book and lyrics by Mark Saltzman, music adapted from classic Italian melodies, directed and choreographed by Justin Ross Cohen, and starring the original cast,  officially opened on Monday, May 16 at Theater 555 (555 West 42nd Street - between 10th and 11th Avenues).

 KT Sullivan, Artistic Director of the Mabel Mercer Foundation hosted the finals of The 5th Adela & Larry Elow American Songbook High School Competition yesterday in the Laurie Beechman Theater at The West Bank Cafe. The competition prize money was endowed by Board Members Adela and Larry Elow to encourage teenagers to learn and perform The Great American Songbook, which was composed between the years 1900-1970.

The American Popular Song Society will honor Lee Roy Reams in a star-studded benefit concert celebrating the art and legacy of the American popular song, at The Cutting Room, 44 East 32nd Street, on Sunday June 12, at 5pm.

Musical theater composer Scott Evan Davis will have a Triad Takeover on May 21st with original songs and a few musical friends.
