ACT of Connecticut has announced their fourth and final production of the 2021-2022 season – Jonathan Larson's RENT.  

ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) of Connecticut has announced their fourth and final production of the 2021-2022 season – Jonathan Larson’s RENT.  This Broadway smash hit musical will feature an all-star cast of performers.

Brighton Beach Memoirs began its run at Orange Park Community Theatre on April 1st. Make no mistake, this is no April Fools prank, the cast and crew have put on a lovely performance for Orange Park and the surrounding areas.

The Grown-Ups, an immersive theatrical experience created by Nightdrive and performed outdoors around a campfire for six audience members at a time, will premier in a secret North Brooklyn location beginning Friday, July 30th for a summer engagement through Tuesday, August 31st. Official opening is Sunday, August 8th at 8:30pm.

The Seeing Place Theater has announced Lynn Nottage's SWEAT, directed by Brandon Walker. SWEAT will have two live performances via Zoom on February 27 (7 pm EST) and February 28 (3 pm EST), and be available via streaming on YouTube February 28-March 3, 2021.

Check out WHILE WE WAIT - an original virtual musical from BIG Theatre Company (FringeNYC, Midtown International Theatre Festival). Recently featured in the Pittsburgh Playhouse's Living Room Cabaret, WHILE WE WAIT follows eight friends as they navigate an unprecedented global quarantine.

A star-studded cast led by Becky Ann Baker (HBO's "Girls."), 5-Time Tony nominee Dana Ivy (off-Broadway's original "Driving Miss Daisy"), 4-Time Oscar nominee Marsha Mason ("The Goodbye Girl") and Tony winner John Rubinstein ("Children of a Lesser God") will perform in a benefit reading of "The Torch-Bearers" for Bucks County Playhouse. Performances will be held in New York at the Westside Theatre on Monday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. and then two days later at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00 pm. The reading is the first of three benefit readings that will mark the Playhouse's 80th anniversary.

Maplewood thespian turned producer has caught the bug! Late June, Gregory Omar Osborne produced a rousing production of FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE. It was a successful first for Osborne, with ticket sales at 70% over a four show weekend. Less than six months after closing FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE Osborne will present the world premiere of A PARK AVENUE CHRISTMAS written by Ed Dickson at The Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, December 20th - 23rd, 2018, in Maplewood, NJ.

On Monday, July 23, 2018, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 14 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2018 nominees at its annual event, The IT Party. Celebrating fourteen years and thousands of nominees at le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleeker Street.

Gallery Players will begin 2018 with William Finn and James Lapine's A New Brain. It is an autobiographical musical exploring illness and the healing power of art. A New Brain features music and lyrics by William Finn; book by William Finn and James Lapine. The show started as a concert at The Public Theater in 1996, then premiered Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center in 1998, directed by Graciela Daniele and featuring Malcolm Gets. In 2015 City Center presented A New Brain in their Encores! series with the cast headed by Jonathan Groff.

JULIET & ROMEO, will receive its New York premiere in the 2017 Shakespeare in the Theater Festival at the Brick Theater in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

THE ANNOTATED HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN MUSKRAT, an experimental American epic, will receive its New York premiere in the 2016 Ice Factory Festival at New Ohio Theatre. Written by award-winning playwright John Kuntz, the premiere production by the Circuit Theatre Company in Boston was deemed 'an opportunity to see a theater company pushing dramatic boundaries in exciting new ways' by The Boston Globe.
