JULIET & ROMEO Set for 2017 Shakespeare in the Theater Festival at Brick Theater
JULIET & ROMEO, will receive its New York premiere in the 2017 Shakespeare in the Theater Festival at the Brick Theater in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Adapted by Samantha Rehr, the production will be performed August 6-11, as a part of the Shakespeare in the Theater Festival 2017.
Girl meets boy in this spare, biting adaptation, giving a fresh view into the forces that make us who we are when we are becoming the people we will be: our strange bodies, the strange people around us, and the best bad pop music. When choices are a privilege, who wouldn't risk everything to make some? Skylar Fox directs the production.
The cast of JULIET & ROMEO includes Jessie Kenner Tidball, Justin Phillips, Dario Sanchez, Soph Menas, Samantha Rehr, Alexis Floyd, Christin Cato, Connie Crawford, and Ava Langford.
The production team includes Scenic Design by Skylar Fox, Costume Design by Casey Jones, Lighting Design by Kate McGee, Sound Design by Adam Wyron, Stage Manager Lida Richardson, Fight Choreography by Trevor Olds, and Line Produced by Jenny Gorelick.
Winner of the The Caffe Cino Fellowship Award, THE BRICK is Williamsburg, Brooklyn's destination for cutting-edge theatrical experience. The Brick and its company, The Brick Theater, Inc, were founded in 2002 by Robert Honeywell and Michael Gardner. Formerly an auto-body shop, a yoga center, and various storage spaces, this brick-walled garage in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, was completely refurbished as a state-of-the-art performance space. SHAKESPEARE IN THE THEATER is the Brick's summer Shakespeare festival.
Performances are at the Brick Theater at 579 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn on Sunday 8/6 at 4pm, Tuesday 8/8 at 9:10pm, and Friday 8/11 at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/975631. Tickets are $20 general admission.
