MCC Theater (Bernie Telsey and Will Cantler, Co-Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) have released a professional recording for the song “I Could Have Danced All Night” from the musical My Fair Lady, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, is available to stream now on all music platforms.

Next week, 54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. A recipient of the 2022 Tony Awards Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work. 

The best of Broadway got miscast this week! MCC's annual event, MISCAST23 took place on April 3, honoring Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Vanessa Williams and MCC Youth Company Alum Lianny Toval.

Miscast is one of the most anticipated and exciting theater events in New York each year. The biggest stars of stage and screen took to the stage at Hammerstein Ballroom, performing songs from roles in which they would not traditionally be cast. Based on the show business aspirations and successes of R&B acts such as The Supremes, The Shirelles, James Brown, and Jackie Wilson, Dreamgirls tells the story of a young female singing trio from Chicago, Illinois called 'The Dreams,' who become music superstars. Through gospel, R&B, smooth pop, disco and more, this musical explores themes of ambition, hope, and betrayal, all set in the glamorous and competitive world of the entertainment industry.

From February 7th-12th, North Carolina Theatre will be presenting DREAMGIRLS at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, which is located inside Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. I had the great pleasure of interviewing actress Joy Woods, who will be taking on the role of Deena Jones. Some of her previous credits include the Off-Broadway revival of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, the Broadway production of SIX, and most recently the world premiere stage musical adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' THE NOTEBOOK in Chicago.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents 54 Sings 2013! Get ready to “Scream & Shout” for your favorite Broadway performers and cabaret's finest as we transport you back in time to 2013. The 2010's forever changed pop music, and we are back again to celebrate!

Television and film star Maude Apatow will join the cast of Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey from February 7 – April 2, 2023. Apatow will make her New York stage debut alongside Tony Award Winner Matt Doyle (Company) as Seymour. Tony Award nominee Bryce Pinkham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Ohio State Murders) returns to the company as Dr. Orin Scrivello, D.D.S. beginning January 24, and D'Kaylah Unique Whitley (Dear Evan Hansen, Aida) joins the cast as Ronnette beginning January 17.

North Carolina Theatre, the region's premiere nonprofit professional regional theatre, has announced the full cast for Dreamgirls with book and lyrics by Tom Eyen and music by Henry Krieger, directed by Christopher D. Betts and Co-Choregraphed by Christopher D. Betts and Amy Hall Garner. Additional Choreography by Mya King.
