The NY Kwanzaa Film Festival winner for Best Feature, 'Soul Doctor' will be screened at the Walton Theater (100 Selma Avenue) in Selma, Alabama on Sunday, March 1st at 4:30pm to celebrate Black History Monthand The Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee, commemorating 'Bloody Sunday,' when a group of about 525 African American demonstrators gathered at Browns Chapel to demand the right to vote.An event that led to the famous Selma Marches led by the late Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. which was a turning point in public support for the Civil Rights movement.

The Kwanzaa Film Festival presents a special Martin Luther King Jr. Day program, themed 'A Kwanzaa Response to a Hanukkah Tragedy' with a program that focuses on African American-Jewish Relations. The feature presentation is this year's 'Best Film' winner Soul Doctor - the Broadway movie-musical about the life of the 'rock star' rabbi Shlomo Carlbach and his history shaping relationship with music icon Nina Simone. The film will be shown on Monday, January 20th at 4pm at AMC Magic Johnson Harlem (2309 Frederick Douglas Blvd.) as part of their Gala Awards evening.

Tony Award nominated Broadway star Josh Young, an assistant professor in Oakland University's School of Music, Theatre and Dance, will perform show tunes from the catalog of Andrew Lloyd Webber at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 24 in Varner Recital Hall.

Toronto Symphony Orchestra will perform the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein in April of 2020!

Broadway couple Josh Young and Emily Padgett have announced the birth of their new baby girl. Adele May Young was born on February 3, 2019.

Billy Stritch recently sailed from his usual NYC docks at The Carlyle and Birdland and was welcomed by hundreds of music connoisseurs on the Shores of Velencia and Frenchman's Creek Beach Club in Florida. The show at Velencia Shores was headlined,'Billy Stritch & Friends' and the super singer friends that Billy brought along were Deborah Silver, Emmanuelle Adda and Josh Young. Jim Caruso, Billy's special good friend and partner in all things musical fun also joined him for the special Florida entertainment event.

The 17th Annual Broadway Unplugged was held at the Merkin Concert Hall last night, October 13.

The Ogunquit Playhouse is honored to have received two Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards at the April 23rd ceremony held in Brookline, Massachusetts for the critically acclaimed 2017 production of Ragtime. Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera that tells the story of the final week in the life of Jesus Christ. It begins with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ends with the crucifixion. It also highlights the political and interpersonal struggles between Jesus and one of his 12 apostles, Judas Iscariot that are not present in the Bible narratives.
