Productions planned for the 2021/22 season include Haus of Glitter’s activist dance party Historical Fantasy of Esek Hopkins, the East Coast premiere of Charlie Thurston’s modern meditation on the Icarus tale Lifted, the world premiere of Shey Rivera Ríos’ AntigonX – a queer/Latinx interpretation of Sophocles’ Antigone, and more!

The Wilbury Theatre Group presents the World Premiere of Dolores Goes to Poetry City by Darcie Dennigan, based on the poetry of Farnoosh Fathi. The performance runs June 10 – 20 outdoors at WaterFire Arts Center.

Founded in 2014 by The Wilbury Theatre Group and presented since 2017 by The Wilbury Group in collaboration with WaterFire Providence, FRINGEPVD brings together more than three hundred individual theatre, music, dance, multimedia and performing artists for two weeks of performances in and around WaterFire Arts Center, as well as online. 

The Wilbury Theatre Group presents Whose Name Was Writ in Water, a 360˚ Virtual Experience by Becci Davis, from April 30 – May 15. 

Whose Name Was Writ in Water features dual narratives woven together; the interrogation of history through an imagined conversation with the artist's enslaved 4th great-grandmother and a rite of passage for her teenage son. Water serves as the technology that connects them through time and space. By questioning the past, the artist attempts to navigate the present through ritual, labor, the exploration of landscapes, examination of old family snapshots and documents, original and appropriated poetry, and photography.

The Wilbury Theatre Group offers a first look at their limited run of Krapp's Last Tape – Samuel Beckett's lauded one-act play about the effects of time and loneliness, and the longing for past glories. Performances are being presented for limited audiences of 25 people in the 15,000 sq. ft. Main Hall at the WaterFire Arts Center April 9-25, 2021.

The Wilbury Theatre Group in collaboration with WaterFire Providence announces the dates for this year's FRINGEPVD: The Providence Fringe Festival: July 18 – 24, 2021. FRINGEPVD will be accepting artists submissions from March 15 – April 15.
