The magical new interpretation of Charles Dickens’ timeless story, A Christmas Carol, adapted by Tony Award winner Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and originally directed and conceived by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (Matilda), will visit five U.S. cities this holiday season with two simultaneous productions.

A Christmas Carol is hitting the road in 2021!

Tonight, in celebration of Off- and Off-Off Broadway theater, the American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice honored the recipients of the 65th Annual Obie Awards.

After three extensions, the WP Theater (Lisa McNulty, Producing Artistic Director; Michael Sag, Managing Director) and Second Stage Theater (Carole Rothman, President & Artistic Director) production of Alexis Scheer's OUR DEAR DEAD DRUG LORD, directed by Whitney White, and produced by Benjamin Simpson, Joseph Longthorne and Jana Shea, will play its final performance on Sunday, January 5.

A Christmas Carol, which opened on Broadway November 20, 2019, has just broken another box office record at the Lyceum Theatre. Adapted by Jack Thorne and directed by Matthew Warchus, A Christmas Carol grossed $954,054.40 over nine performances for the week ending December 29. It tops the house record previously held by Oh, Hello, the Nick Kroll and John Mulaney comedy that grossed $911,602 for the week ending January 1, 2017.

The producers of A Christmas Carol announced today that starting with the first preview on November 7, 2019 there will be a limited number of $40 rush tickets available for each performance throughout the run.

Alexis Scheer's OUR DEAR DEAD DRUG LORD, directed by Whitney White, will receive an extended life, adding nine weeks to its already twice extended run at the McGinn / Cazale Theater (2162 Broadway), through Sunday, January 5, 2020. Complete casting has been announced today for the holiday masterpiece, A Christmas Carol, coming to Broadway this holiday season for eight weeks only, following critically acclaimed runs at The Old Vic, London. Two visionary talents, playwright Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and director Matthew Warchus (Matilda The Musical), offer a magical new interpretation of Charles Dickens' classic story. Beginning previews on Thursday, November 7 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street), with the opening night set for Wednesday, November 20, A Christmas Carol will play a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, January 5, 2020 only.

After three years of development, beginning immediately after the 2016 Presidential election that left the democratic constituency of the United States in a state of shock, the new immersive comedy Convention will make its world premiere this summer at Brooklyn's very own Irondale (85 S. Oxford Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217), located just steps from BAM.   Convention will begin performances Friday, June 7, and play a strictly limited engagement through Saturday, June 29. An opening night has been set for Thursday, June 13 at 8:00pm.

Award-winning playwright Patricia Loughrey and composer Thomas Hodges announce that five-time NYMF alum Erin Leigh Peck (Motherfreakinghood, Grease! on Broadway) will step into the lead role of Margaret Evans in their original LGBTQ musical Sonata 1962.The production, which will make its Off-Broadway debut this August as part of the 2018 New York Musical Festival's Next Link Project, was originally slated to star Becca Ayers who has had to step out of the show due to booking a Broadway contract.

Award-winning playwright Patricia Loughrey and composer Thomas Hodges, whose critically acclaimed play Dear Harvey has been making waves across the nation since its debut in 2010, are thrilled to announce their original LGBTQ musical Sonata 1962 will making its Off-Broadway debut this August as part of the 2018 New York Musical Festival's (NYMF) Next Link Project.

Creators Carly Brooke Feinman and Cassie Willson are thrilled to announce the casting for their original musical If Sand Were Stone, making its Off-Broadway debut this July as part of the 2018 New York Musical Festival's (NYMF) Next Link Project.
