What did our critic think of INTO THE WOODS at Ouachita Baptist University Jones Performing Arts Center?

I don’t want to sound biased about the various Universities, but I think that Ouachita Baptist University is possibly my favorite private school for music and theatre. The sounds that came out of Verser Theatre.

Before the internet — and even before the days when you could dial up a hotline and hear a stranger describe their dream date — finding love meant doing something truly daring: talking to people face to face!

Jury duty can be an emotional time in a person’s life, and the play 12 ANGRY JURORS, an adaptation of Reginald Rose's classic drama 12 Angry Men, was presented in the Verser Theater at Ouachita Baptist University from Feb. 13 to 16. Performed in the Black Box, the production, Directed by Senior Mac Ricks, immersed the audience in the raw tension of the jury room, where every gesture, argument, and revelation carried immense stakes. It was intense!

Amphibian Stage Productions opens its third main stage production of the 2015 season, The QUIXOTIC DAYS AND ERRANT NIGHTS OF THE KNIGHT ERRANT DON QUIXOTE by Brenda Withers, next Thursday, kicking off a four-week run of the play.

Amphibian Stage Productions (Kathleen Culebro, Artistic Director) today announced casting for its third main stage production of the 2015 season, The Quixotic Days and Errant Nights of the Knight Errant Don Quixote by Brenda Withers. This world premiere play will run Thursday July 9 through Sunday August 2 at Amphibian's Berlene T. & Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre.  The play will feature actors Steph Garrett, Nathan Smith, Ivan Jasso, Christie Vela, Bob Hess, John Forkner, and Jeremy Schwartz. Matthew Earnest will direct the production.

Four couples, one anniversary dinner, and a housewarming party. What could go wrong? Well, since it's from the mind of Britcom master Alan Ayckbourn, everything could, and the whole evening begins to unravel, quickly and hilariously, in Bedroom Farce, beginning a 5-week run at Stage West on Thursday, October 16. Amphibian Stage Productions presents its third main stage production of the 2014 season, The Nosemaker's Apprentice: Chronicles of a Medieval Plastic Surgeon. Jay Duffer, John Forkner, Alexandra Lawrence, Brandon Murphy and Scott Zenreich will star in this comedy, running today, July 10 through Sunday, August 10 at Amphibian's Berlene T. & Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at 120 S. Main Street. David A. Miller will direct the production.
