BWW Exclusive: Ben Rimalower's Broken Records with Special Guest, Alison Fraser

In this episode, Ben and Daniel talk to two-time Tony nominee Alison Fraser about her 1996 album 'A New York Romance.' They also discuss Rusty Magee, James Taylor, Benjamin Dreyer, Bill Finn, 'In Trousers,' 'March of the Falsettos,' 'The Music Man,' Rebecca Luker, Oliver, Eydie Gormé, 'My Fair Lady,' Harry Nilsson, John Cameron Mitchell, Stephen Trask, Bernadette Peters, 'Gigi,' Mary Testa, Annie Golden, Daisy Eagan, Laura Nyro, Linda Rondstadt, Michael John LaChiusa, 'First Daughter Suite,' Elvis Costello, Aaron Mark, Rammstein, Patty Darcy, and Lena Horne. Alison has appeared in numerous Broadway shows, including 'The Secret Garden' and 'Romance/Romance,' both of which earned her Tony nominations. She also appeared alongside Patti LuPone in the 2008 revival of 'Gypsy.'

Zorro The Musical reveals a first look at the cast in action as rehearsal images for the new immersive production are released today. The production features music by The Gipsy Kings and the evening will start with live entertainment and a Flamenco party in the foyer of Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre before the story continues in the auditorium itself, bringing the legendary adventure of the masked hero to life. Zorro the Musical is directed by Christian Durham and runs from 14 March – 18 April 2020, with opening night on 18 March.

11th Hour Theatre Company & Cardinal Stage Will Present HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH

11th Hour Theatre Company and Cardinal Stage team up to present the fourth-wall smashing musical sensation, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. This production will be directed by 11th Hour co-founder and resident director, Megan Nicole O'Brien, and star another 11th Hour co-founder and local favorite, Steve Pacek, in the title role. This wickedly funny rock musical will first have performances in Philadelphia before crossing state lines to run at Cardinal Stage in Bloomington, Indiana. This co-production was a no-brainer for both companies, as the Cardinal Stage Artistic Director is former 11th Hour Associate Producer, and home-grown powerhouse, Kate Galvin. They also discuss Axl Rose, Cats, Billy Porter, 'Legally Blonde,' Patti LuPone, 'Evita,' Donna Summer, 'Tarzan,' 'Kinky Boots,' Jimi Hendrix, 'Rent,' Janis Joplin, Damon Daunno, Jeff Buckley, David Bowie, and My Little Pony. Lena talks about her unique artistic journey, from growing up in the ballet world, to singing in the rock band The Deafening, to winning a Tony Award for her portrayal of Yitzhak in the acclaimed Broadway revival of 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch.' In 'Hedwig,' Lena performed alongside John Cameron Mitchell, Neil Patrick Harris, Michael C. Hall, and Darren Criss, before stepping into the title role herself for the National Tour.

Clay Smith's drag persona Delighted Tobehere is well known, not only in the Upstate, but all over the globe thanks to the amazing performance she delivered on America's Got Talent a few seasons ago. Now, that incredible voice and impeccable sense of comedic timing will be put on full display as the titular character in this month's HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH at The Warehouse Theatre.

Full Cast Announced For ZORRO In Concert At Cadogan Hall

Zubin Varla and Robert Tripolino will join the cast of ZORRO in concert at Cadogan Hall on Sunday 23 February as Don Alejandro and Ramon respectively. They join the previously announced Ricardo Afonso (Jesus Christ Superstar, We Will Rock You) as the titular role and Diego, Olivier Award-winning actress Lesli Margherita (Matilda on Broadway, Dames At Sea on Broadway, Zorro original West End cast) reprising the role of Inez and four-time Olivier-nominated actress Emma Williams (Half A Sixpence, Mrs Henderson Presents, Zorro original West End cast) who will also reprise the role of Luisa.

Days later I'm craving the songs, the performances a?" to witness the staging once more, to see what else I can pick up on, or to experience what new twist Rodin will bring to another evening's show. No two will be alike. But I feel I can confidently say that each one will end with a standing ovation, hands lifted in openness and praise.  

Full Casting Announced For New Immersive Production Of ZORRO THE MUSICAL

Full casting is announced today for the new spectacular production of Zorro The Musical which will run at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester from 14 March a?" 18 April 2020, with opening night for press on 18 March, directed by Christian Durham. The show will be brought to life by a cast including Antony Costa as Garcia, Alex Gibson-Giorgio as Ramon, Emma Kingston as Luisa, Genevieve Nicole as Inez, Kit Orton as Don Alejandro and Benjamin Purkiss as the masked hero, Zorro. The cast is completed by Ajjaz Awad, Amy Bastani, Isobel Bates, Ben Boskovic, Maxwell Griffin, Matthew Heywood, Jessica Pardoe, Thomas Ping, Seren Sandham-Davies and Stylianos Thomadakis.
