THE DJANGO will bring another month of stellar jazz by some of the field’s heroes alongside young, emerging artists.

THE DJANGO, downtown Manhattan’s premier jazz club, is celebrating the next generation of jazz with a special concert series this month. During the month of May, The Django welcomes rising stars as part of its new Next Gen Series.

March 2022 at The Nash will feature some incredible jazz artists inlcuding saxophonist Melissa Aldana on March 26 who will be performing with the SCC Jazz Orchestra as well as her quartet.

Pacific Symphony presents “The Langston Hughes Project,” a multimedia concert performance of the poet's jazz poem suite titled, Ask Your Mama: Twelve Moods for Jazz. This is Hughes' homage in verse and music to the struggle for artistic and social freedom at home and abroad at the beginning of the 1960s.

Association of Theatrical Press Agents & Managers  retired member Terry M. Lilly. Terry was a Press Agent on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and across the country, who came into membership in September of 1977. He passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2021 after a long illness, surrounded by loved ones.

When retirement centers were on lock down last year due to Covid, Chicago Cabaret sent their holiday concert out to 85 Chicago area nursing homes for staff and residents to enjoy a musical celebration. 

Tour members meet on the Flying Opera Magic Carpet for a week of American and international performances. Our first stop is at San Francisco Opera, for Fidelio by Ludwig van Beethoven online October 14, 17, and 30, 2021. Cost- $25.

Joining them will be musical director Michael Arrom, Lyman Medeiros on bass, John Ciodini on guitar, and Gene Coye and drums.

Beginning in June, live jazz concerts will resume at The Nash, the leading jazz club and educational center in Phoenix. Dennis Rowland and Diana Lee will be the first concert held at the venue, after over 14 months of closure.

Today United Suicide Survivors International (United Survivors) announces the publication of the second book in a series to help support men's mental health, “Guts, Grit & The Grind: A MENtal Mechanics MANual - Advanced Mechanics in Preventative Maintenance” edited by Sally Spencer-Thomas Psy.D., Sarah Gaer, MA and Frank King and  published by BDI Publishers.  The book officially launches on August 16, 2020 with pre-orders available now on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Acclaimed Jazz harpist-pianist-vocalist Corky Hale will present a 105th Birthday Show honoring Billie Holiday on Tuesday, April 7, at 7:30 PM, at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood. 

City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, has announced Grammy-nominated pop artist Vanessa Carlton, R&B chart topper Raheem DeVaughn, Chicago-born jazz sensation Ann Hampton Callaway, and more. The following shows go on sale to the public on Friday, January 24 at noon. Tickets will be available at citywinery.com/chicago.

Morán Morán has announced the first exhibition of New York-based artist Tommy Malekoff's work, titled Night Suns/Desire Lines. The show is comprised of a two-channel video installation and a series of twenty, small-scale silkscreen works depicting nocturnal street lamps, which both observe and venerate inherent aspects of late capitalism and the surprising split life it possesses.
