Ensemble Arts Philly and The Shubert Organization will present the Philadelphia premiere of Shucked at the Forrest Theatre from April 21 through May 3, 2026.

At first glance, Shucked doesn’t seem like a show that should work. A Broadway musical about corn, packed with puns and country music, sounds like it might wear thin fast. But during its stop at the Orpheum Theatre, this touring production proves that beneath the dad jokes and folksy charm is a surprisingly smart and generous piece of musical theatre.

Only on Broadway can a show this proudly preposterous, this shamelessly corny, sneak up on the skeptics and knock the wind out of them. SHUCKED, the goofy little musical that could, arrives at ASU Gammage in Tempe like a hayride crashing into a punch bowl.

Filled with a seemingly non-stop parade of awww-shucks delivered puns—of both super naughty and super corny varieties—the show, for lack of a more eloquent description, is so frikkin silly and stupid in the best possible ways a comedy can get. Mind you, this isn't an insult at all—the show is so unapologetically and purposely silly, that the whole thing actually feels like savvy (and sassy) comedic gold, albeit the broad and dorky kind that audiences of all kinds will likely adore and appreciate. Unexpectedly weird in the most winning ways, SHUCKED had me laughing heartily at all of its strange, admirably sustained shenanigans and down-home humor, never once wavering from its 'corny' (haha) machinations not even for a millisecond. The show's rather enjoyable national tour production continues performances at OC's Segerstrom Center for the Arts through November 23, 2025.

Dear Readers, I want to talk to you about somewhat under the radar shows, and corn. Not all shows have that name recognition or known songs. Sometimes these new story, original musical gems come along, and they need some of your time and attention. One such show is “Shucked” currently playing at the Paramount. With a subject matter that might make some go “huh?” it could pass you by. Don’t let it!

In times like these, sometimes you just need to turn off your brain and laugh. That's exactly what the national tour of the musical comedy SHUCKED delivers – a few hours of unapologetically silly, pun-saturated fun.

Broadway in Columbus has announced that tickets for Shucked, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 24. The production will play eight performances at the Ohio Theatre from April 7–12, 2026.

& Juliet on Broadway will welcome two new stars this summer! It has just been announced that Gianna Harris will take over the title role of ‘Juliet’ in the smash hit musical beginning Tuesday, June 10. Cheryl Porter, the vocal coach known for her viral TikTok videos, making her Broadway debut in the production this August!

New cast members will join & Juliet for the hit musical’s third year on Broadway. Joining the company this October is Alison Luff as ‘Anne’ (The Who’s Tommy, Waitress, Escape to Margaritaville), Liam Pearce as ‘Romeo’ (How to Dance in Ohio, McCarter Theatre Center’s Empire Records), and Nathan Levy as ‘François’ (Aladdin, Dear Evan Hansen). 

Actors’ Equity Association has revealed that the chorus of the Broadway musical The Heart of Rock and Roll will receive the 2024 ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. Learn more about the award and the production!
