Wright State Theatre will present a season of riotous comedy, thoughtful drama, classic and contemporary musicals. In a season the features the stories of rising independence, tragic consequences and joyful discovery, audiences will experience one of their most eclectic and varied seasons in recent memory.

The winners have been announced for the 2022 BroadwayWorld Columbus Awards, honoring the best in regional productions, touring shows, and more which had their first performance between October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.

Dayton Performing Arts Alliance presents An Evening of Sondheim as part of the SuperPops Series Friday, January 20, and Saturday, January 21, at 7:30 pm in the Mead Theater of the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. Students from Wright State University's School of Fine and Performing Arts join the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Conductor Patrick Reynolds to perform popular songs by music theatre legend Stephen Sondheim.

What did our critic think of REVIEW: DISNEY’S NEWSIES at Southern Theatre? Aristotle is credited with coming up with the phrase, 'the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.' Had he witnessed the Columbus Children Theatre's production of DISNEY'S NEWSIES, the philosopher may have reversed the quotation to 'the parts are greater than the sum of the whole.' An energetic cast, sharp management by director Joe Deer and choreographer Vincent Sylvester, and tight orchestration by musical director Lara Brooks lifted a cheesy musical to stellar heights.

CCT (Columbus Children’s Theatre) will open its 60th season with the two-time Tony Award winner Disney’s Newsies (Sept. 23-Oct. 2) at the historic Southern Theatre.
