Rain gushes down the front of the Lyttelton stage, a pitiless wall of water trapping and framing the Rutherfords - a clan very much defined by their environment. It's an arresting image to open Polly Findlay's sure revival of Githa Sowerby's 1912 drama, inspired by Sowerby's own family's dealings in Tyneside glass manufacturing.

The affair will run for seven days from May 2nd to May 11th and promises an intimate yet exciting exploration of Morrissey's expansive career from his early days to his upcoming new record 'California Son': a collection of 1960/70s classic covers out on May 24th via Etienne Records/BMG.

San Jose rock band Stickup Kid is back with a new album, 'Soul Drive,' which will be released on May 3rd. Formed in 2009, the band was previously signed to Billie Joe Armstrong's Adeline Records. 'Soul Drive' is their first new full-length since 2013's 'Future Fire.'

The cast and crew also made an appearance at CinemaCon, where Jennifer Hudson sang 'Memory.' CinemaCon also shed light on the upcoming Disney live-action adaptations of both ALADDIN and THE LION KING! And just a few weeks ago, a new trailer was released for ALADDIN. It was recently announced, too, that a film remake of GUYS AND DOLLS is in the works!

In the biggest news of the month, it has just been confirmed that Glenn Close will star in a Rob Ashford-directed film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, which is set to begin shooting this October! It was also announced that a film adaptation of One Man, Two Guvnors is on the way. Both Lion King and Aladdin released new TV spots and Idris Elba talked about the upcoming Cats film!
