Ghostlight Records has announced that the new cast album of Cole Porter's The New Yorkers - The New York City Center Encores! 2017 Cast Recording is available on CD, digital and streaming formats today, Friday, December 6. The release is the first major cast album of the 1930 musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, book by Herbert Fields, and based on a story by Peter Arno and E. Ray Goetz. The 2017 production from New York City Center (Arlene Shuler, New York City Center President & CEO) Encores! was directed by John Rando, with musical direction by Encores! Music Director Rob Berman and choreography by Chris Bailey.

Zigun, Artistic Director of Coney Island USA and Funhouse Philosophers, announces that Bloody Brains in a Juke Box, previously slated to begin performances on November 8, has been rescheduled for Spring, 2020 in order to allow for a special casting drive to discover celebrity look-alike actors to portray characters resembling Sidney Poitier, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Coogan and Jayne Mansfield. Special auditions for these parts will be held at Coney Island USA at 1208 Surf Avenue, Brooklyn on Sunday, October 27 from 1 to 5pm. The new performance dates for the production will be Fridays thru Sundays, March 6-29, with an opening night scheduled for March 14.

DANCE NOW announces the lineup for the 2019 Festival ENCORE! The one-night-only performance will feature the 10 choreographers/companies selected by the DANCE NOW producers for having most successfully met the 2019 DANCE NOW Challenge: to create a clear and complete artistic statement in five minutes or less for the specifics of the stage at Joe's Pub. This year's Challenge winner is Nicole Vaughan-Diaz. As the Challenge winner, Vaughan-Diaz will receive a $1,500 stipend and a weeklong creative residency at DANCE NOW Silo on Kirkland Farm in Bucks County, PA. The ENCORE! program will be hosted by Deborah Lohse (aka TruDee).

Mendacity and half-truths abound in the new, critically acclaimed musical solo work from internationally renowned pianist-singer, Mark Nadler. The Old Razzle Dazzle: An Evening of Lies, Lying and Liars will bow at the Laurie Beechman Theatre this fall on Wednesdays, Sept. 11th, 25th and Oct. 23rd at 7pm, and Oct. 30th at 9:30pm. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is at 407 West 42nd Street, in the rear and downstairs at the West Bank Café. Tickets may be purchased online at: https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/1008342.
