Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater kicks off 2022 with a full slate of nightly performances. 

With his new show, ARI'S ARIAS, Ari Axelrod publicly takes his status as a performer and an artist to a new level - for himself and for the cabaret community.

On December 10, ZOHO Music, a latin, jazz, and rock indie CD label, is releasing the studio recorded CD version of My Ship: Songs From 1941, which Dawn Derow will celebrate with a One-Night-Only return of the award-winning show at New York's Green Room 42 on January 15, 2022 at 7 pm.

JEFF HARNAR will salute Emmy, Grammy, Tony winning songwriter CY COLEMAN in his award-winning, critically acclaimed show A COLLECTIVE CY, originally performed in 2007 at Feinstein’s at the Regency in New York City.

ASCAP Award-winning writer/producer Chip Deffaa's new CD, 'Irving Berlin: Love Songs and Such'--being released December 13th--features such  Broadway and cabaret  notables as  Betty Buckley, Anita Gillette, Karen Mason, Stephen Bogardus, Steve Ross, Jon Peterson.

It's been two years of ups and downs for the world and for the small venue entertainment scene. Everyone is grateful for the return to some kind of new version of 'Normal' - especially one writer who probably spends more nights in the clubs than, even, the average cabaret performer.

It was the cabaret debut for which everyone was waiting, and it was worth the wait.

It has been said that great things are worth waiting for. It took some time to get Linda Kahn into the solo spot but once it happened the crowd couldn't help but SAY YES! to her.

Broadway World Cabaret correspondent Thomas Salus spent Tuesday night inside the walls of a sold-out 54 Below, using his lens to capture an auspicious opening night.

I always know what to expect when seeing a Sondheim review - a quirky, rag-tag team-up of people patting themselves and their peers on the shoulder for getting through the rhythmic pitter-patter and haunting melodies with an air about them that says, 'Aren't you impressed, audience?' When Jeff Harnar entered the room, I knew I was in for so much more. As he walked down the aisle making his way to the 54 Below stage, the audience clapped and smiled, excited to see their old friend. And Jeff returned that sentiment for the entirety of the show, building on and celebrating the inherent connection that brought us all here.

THE MELODY LINGERS ON: A GALA TRIBUTE TO THE SONGS OF IRVING BERLIN was a gathering of some of the biggest names in the cabaret world. There’s something a little odd about celebrating the intimate art of cabaret in a Broadway-sized theatre like Rose Hall, but to be honest it was one of the few venues sizable enough to hold all the cabaret fans who came to see this fine collection of talented artists. There were performances from Sandy Stewart, Jeff Harner, Andrea Marcovicci, Eric Yves Garcia, Karen Oberlin, David LaMarr, Natalie Douglas, Stacy Sullivan & Todd Murray, Karen Akers, Steve Ross, Amra-Faye Wright, Klea Blackhurst, Billy Stritch, Aisha de Haas, Christine Andreas, Sidney Myer, Karen Mason, Nicolas King, Mark Nadler, and the Moipai Triplets. In addition to these wonderful performers, we were treated to some of NYC’s best musicians including Ray Marchicka, Steve Doyle, Jon Weber, Bill Charlap, Darnell White, Alex Rybeck, Mark Hummel, Michael Rice, and Tracy Stark.

The Mabel Mercer Foundation, led by KT Sullivan shows resilience as it evolves with the changing times and pandemic needs, presenting streaming and live performances for the 2021 Cabaret Convention.

Six-time Tony and Emmy nominee Tovah Feldshuh will return to Boca Raton's Mizner Park Cultural Center on Saturday October 16th and Sunday October 17th for three performances of her acclaimed one woman show Tovah is LEONA! The show, in which Feldshuh assumes the persona of real estate mogul and hotelier Leona Helmsley, played to sold-out houses in January 2019.
