American Premiere of GOLDEN SHIELD Begins Previews Tonight at MTC

Manhattan Theatre Club’s American premiere of Golden Shield, written by Anchuli Felicia King (White Pearl) and directed by May Adrales (Vietgone at MTC), begins performances tonight at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street). Opening night is Tuesday, May 17.

Nominations for the 37th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were announced today by theatre veterans Lilli Cooper and Lea DeLaria, stars of Broadway’s POTUS. With COVID safety in mind, rather than having one host and multiple presenters, this year the Awards will be handed out by a few Host/Presenter pairs on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at NYU Skirball beginning at 7:00pm EST. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League and Lucille Lortel Theatre, with additional support provided by TDF.

Ars Nova Extends Heather Christian's ORATORIO FOR LIVING THINGS

Ars Nova is extending the world premiere commission of Oratorio for Living Things to May 15. Composed by Obie Award-winner and 2015 & 2016 Ars Nova resident artist Heather Christian and directed by Obie Award-winner Lee Sunday Evans, the event fuses music and theater, surrounding the audience with 18 virtuosic singers and instrumentalists.

K-Pop Singer Luna to Star in New Musical KPOP; Broadway Dates Announced!

The upcoming premiere of KPOP, the new musical about the global K-pop phenomenon, will begin performances on Broadway with previews starting on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in advance of an opening night on Sunday, November 20, 2022. The show will play at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street).

MACBETH Announces Rush Policy For Broadway Run

Macbeth, starring Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga, has announced a limited number of $45 general rush tickets will be available for each performance beginning tomorrow, March 29 when performances begin.

Ensemble Studio Theatre and The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation announced today that the World Premiere of what you are now by Sam Chanse (Fruiting Bodies), directed by Steve Cosson (Whisper House), and co-presented by The Civilians (Steve Cosson, Artistic Director), will now begin previews on Wednesday March 9, 2022, out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of both the production and audiences.
