Inspired by the Newsboy Strike of 1899 and based on the cult-hit Disney film, NEWSIES tells a tale of strife and triumph with Tony Award-winning music, daring choreography and a touch of New York City grit.

In lesser hands, this Off-Broadway two-hander would be nothing but a long comedy sketch. But the never-a-dull-moment CLO Cabaret and a bona fide triple threat celebrity wring gold and unexpected emotional depth from the lightweight piece.

Boy bands and Christian rock may not be as timely as they were when this gently edgy spoof premiered, but somehow that makes everything funnier.

Several members of the cast of the Conservatory Theatre Company's world premiere production of the musical, "21," will sing the national anthem at the Pittsburgh Steelers game at 1 p.m. EST, Sunday at Heinz Field.
