Last night the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene premiered Fiddler On The Roof in Yiddish directed by Joel Grey for a VIP Opening Night audience and Gala which honored Jeffrey S. Wisenfeld, Chairman of the Folksbiene.

It was musically 'back to the future' as an icon of popular music, Bronx born, California based Melissa Manchester thrilled old and new fans at Feinstein's/54 Below last night.

Perry Street Theatricals and Jonathan Demar in association with Frederick M. Zollo and Diane Procter present The Saintliness of Margery Kempe by John Wulp, which opened just last night at New York City's The Duke on 42nd Street (located on 229 West 42nd Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues). 

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a successful opening night for FROST/NIXON, a play by Peter Morgan, directed by Sarna Lapine. The show was met with a standing ovation. Notable in attendance were Mercedes Ruehl, Judy Carmichael and Jules Feiffer.  FROST/NIXON runs through July 22. The 2018 Chita Rivera Awards were handed out last night, May 21 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The ceremony was hosted by Orfeh and Andy Karl. BroadwayWorld was in attendance at the big event and you can check out photos from the red carpet below!

Back in the day Frank Sinatra refused to sing in New York City nightclubs because the NYPD required you to be fingerprinted if you worked in a cabaret.  Luckily that law doesn't exist today because I'm sure Robert Davi would have also thumbed his nose at NYC and we would not have heard his tribute show to Sinatra at Feinstein's/54 Below last night.   There are lots of singers who sing 'like' Frank and recreate some great music, but with Davi you get the same exhilaration in the room that Sinatra generated.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - presented the cast of Broadway's hit musical Waitress - including it's new star Katharine McPhee - celebrating the music of the show's composer Sara Bareilles in a special benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS on Sunday last night and BroadwayWorld was there.  Check out the photos below!

Producers Sonia Friedman Productions and Neal Street Productions have just announced initial casting for the Broadway engagement of Jez Butterworth's The Ferryman, which will feature most of the play's acclaimed London cast members on the Broadway stage.
