Artistic Director Brigid Larmour today announces programming to complete Watford Palace Theatre's season for September 2019 - June 2020, following the world première of Mushy: Lyrically Speaking earlier this month. The co-production with Rifco Theatre Company is now on tour across the UK until 5 October.

Due to unforeseen scheduling complications, Matt Cardle has sadly had to withdraw from the upcoming UK premiere of Falsettos at The Other Palace.

Albert Atack, George Kennedy, Elliot Morris and James Williams will share the role of Jason, completing the cast of the hotly anticipated UK premiere of Falsettos, the Tony Award winning musical by William Finn (Music, Lyrics & Book) and James Lapine (Book).

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of its founding, Free Street Theater will stage "50 in 50: A City-Wide Theatrical Flash Mob," spanning Chicago's 50 wards to create a remarkable city-wide theatrical production. The company has brought together 10 multidisciplinary theater artists from across Chicago, including its own artists and ensembles, to lead teams of five to seven performers in creating short pieces to be presented as pop-up performances in each of Chicago's 50 wards.

With the roar of a motorcycle, '60 pop chanteuses The Shangri-Las introduced the world to a new tragic hero, the unforgettable bad boy heartthrob and the titular “Leader Of The Pack.” The year was 1964 and by that time “teenage tragedy songs” had become a genre unto itself with the likes of Jan & Dean's “Dead Mean's Curve,” Ray Peterson's “Tell Laura I Love Her” and many others. But none captured the melodrama of heartbreak as well as “Leader Of The Pack,” which would become a #1 pop hit and the defining song for The Shangri-Las. Now, two veterans of garage rock, trailblazing heartthrobs in their own right, have teamed up for a glorious new version of the tune. Famed Stooges guitarist James Williamson pours gasoline on the song's instrumental track and lights it on fire with his raw, heavy guitar playing, while Runaways vocalist Cherie Currie, aided with backup vocals by Leslie Koch Foumberg, amps up the theatricality for maximum emotional impact.

Celebrating Hollywood's biggest night of year, ABC will showcase a special sneak preview of the highly anticipated, high-octane dramedy, “Whiskey Cavalier,” on Oscar Sunday, FEB. 24, in advance of the series premiere on WEDNESDAY, FEB. 27 (10:00 – 11:00 p.m. EST). The series follows the adventures of secret agents Will Chase (code name: “Whiskey Cavalier”), played by Scott Foley, and Frankie Trowbridge, played by Lauren Cohan, as they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny and heroic spies who periodically save the world.

Down North lead vocalist Anthony Briscoe leans into a song like his life depended on it, a veritable force of nature who channels the spirit of legendary showmen like James Brown, Michael Jackson and Sam Cooke (not to mention arena-rock strutters like David Lee Roth and Steven Tyler). The 50th NAACP Image Awards will air LIVE on TV One, a division of Urban One, Inc., on March 30, 2019. For the first time ever, the telecast will take place from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. The announcement was made today by NAACP National Board of Directors Chairman Leon W. Russell, NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson, Chief Executive Officer, Urban One, Inc. & Chairman/CEO, TV One Alfred Liggins and TV One General Manager Michelle Rice.

James Williams directs Miiya Alexandra (Liesel), Charlotte Clitherow (Fairy Fullobeans/Giant), Terence Frisch (Dame Trott), Oliver Longstaff (Jack Trott), Jill McAusland (Nightshade), Walter van Dyk (Herr Brush) and Marc Zayat (MooMoo). The production opens on 8 December, with previews from 5 December and runs until 5 January.

Pipeline Theatre Company will kick off of its 10th anniversary season with a one-of-a-kind benefit for the company: Pipeline's Amazing Race, taking place Sunday, October 21. Pipeline is also pleased to announce that Caileigh Scott has joined the company in the new role of managing director.

This witty and delightful musical is based on the 1980 hit movie, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, one of the original screenwriters. The unlikeliest of friends, Violet, Judy and Doralee, combine forces to take control of their company and their egotistical boss, intent on keeping them and every other woman "in their place." As their plan spins wildly out of control, these women unite to seek their sweet revenge, but in so doing - shatter the stereotypes and find true friendship, independence and prove there is nothing they can't do.
