Stand-up comedy - the cornerstone of the Comedy Central foundation - is FRONT AND CENTER to kick off the new year! January 2019 is Stand-Up Month on Comedy Central, featuring four all-new stand-up specials from comedic heavyweights Ron Funches (@midnight, The Half Hour), James Davis (Hood Adjacent with James Davis), Chris Distefano (Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano, The Half Hour) and Roy Wood Jr. (The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Roy Wood Jr.: Father Figure), airing consecutive Fridays throughout the month at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. Additional audio, digital and on-air components are TBA.

The Patrick Conner Award Committee is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2018 Patrick Conner Award is SUSANNA FOURNIER. Furthermore, for the first time, due to the unique quality of submissions, the Committee has decided to award the inaugural Patrick Conner Ticket to MARIAH HORNER. The Award and Ticket will be presented at a celebration to be held at The Theatre Centre, 1115 Queen Street West, Toronto, today, September 13 at 6:00pm. The Award Celebration is free and open to the public.

St. Ann's Warehouse and Eva Price have extended the celebrated Bard SummerScape production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma, directed byDaniel Fish, to November 11. Reviewing this re-imagined Oklahoma! for the New York Times in 2015, Ben Brantley said that it 'elicits what has always been just below the surface of this magnificent musical.' Now bringing audiences and artists together in this production under the vast canopy of St. Ann's Warehouse, Fish illuminates the musical form's essentials to better expose the show's emotional range and layered characters. The result is a production as fresh and revelatory as if it were written for today's America.

A joyful lesson in Black musical history will take place at Aaron Davis Hall on Saturday, April 7, as acclaimed performers Marvin Lowe and Queen Esther Marrow lead a cast of singers in exploration of the diversity and brilliance of Black American music through the decades at "A Soulful Music Celebration." Presented by City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) in partnership with Marvin Lowe & Friends, the 3 p.m. concert will feature an ensemble of artists and singers taking audiences on a fantastic journey of music, culture and heritage.
