The company's first modern American classic takes center stage at the Sedgwick Theater, October 4-22. Opening Night is Saturday, October 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15-$35. Opening Night costs $50. Tickets are available online at www.quintessencetheatre.org or at the Box Office at time of performance. The Sedgwick Theater is located at 7137 Germantown Avenue in Mt. Airy.

The Patrick Conner Award Committee has announced that the recipient of the 2017 Patrick Conner Award is JENNIFER DALLAS. The Award will be presented at a ceremony to be held at The Theatre Centre on Monday, September 18 at 7:00pm (doors at 6:30pm). The Award Ceremony is free and open to the public.

On Good Friday, April 14, 2017, 7:30 PM at the historic Abyssinian Baptist Church in the City of New York, jazz pianist/Howard University professor, Cyrus Chestnut, will perform a powerful composition that he especially wrote for the church, entitled "The Saga of the Cross." This exciting celebration of Good Friday will feature a jazz trio, the Abyssinian Baptist Church choir, conducted by James Davis Jr., and will be narrated by Tavis Smiley. Concert proceeds will benefit the AbyWest campaign for the church's construction of a new Education and Cultural Center.
