On May 23, 2022, distinguished artists from across the nation’s entertainment industry will come together in Los Angeles for The 24 Hour Musicals, the intensive theatrical endeavor where stars from Broadway, film and TV come together to write, compose, rehearse and perform four original musicals within a 24 hour time span at the Bourbon Room.

The 24 Hour Plays have announced additional performers who will be joining the incredible line-up for the 21st Annual The 24 Hour Plays Broadway Gala on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Extraordinary artists from Broadway, TV and film will come together to create brand-new plays and musicals written, rehearsed and performed in 24 hours.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat is presenting a reading of the new musical AGAINST WOMEN & MUSIC!, book and lyrics by Kate Douglas and music and lyrics by Lucille Lortel-winner Grace McLean. The reading is directed by Jaki Bradley, with music direction by Kris Kukul.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces four additional commissioned playwrights as a part of Power Plays, an ambitious initiative commissioning and developing 25 new plays and musicals from a diverse mix of writers, composers and lyricists over the course of 10 years. The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell S. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the fifteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Angela Sclafani & Benjamin Velez. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Kate Baldwin on Monday, December 2nd from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.
