The 2022 Tommy Tune Awards from Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) held virtually once again this year, premiered at 7 p.m. tonight on the musical theatre company’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Shea's Performing Arts Center and The Lipke Foundation are proud to announce the winners of 29th Annual Kenny Awards, an endeavor that recognizes the talent, dedication, and efforts of our local high school youth.

After a two-year delay due to COVID, this long-awaited So. Cal. production of NEWSIES---currently on stage at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts through May 29, 2022---marks the much-anticipated live and in-person return of 3-D Theatricals. The wait, as the saying goes, was worth it.

The award-winning Pittsburgh Playhouse at Point Park University, a multidisciplinary arts and entertainment center located in Downtown Pittsburgh, announced the lineup for their Inside/Outside Summer Series as well as over 30 performances across a multitude of arts disciplines for the 2022-2023 season.

3-D THEATRICALS is finally back and are thrilled to invite you to “Seize the Day” as they present the high-flying NEWSIES, book by Harvey Fierstein, music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, musical conductor is Julie Lamoureux, vocal director is Crystal Barron, choreography by Chaz Wolcott (recreating the original Broadway choreography by Christopher Gattelli) and directed by T.J. Dawson. NEWSIES will preview on Friday, May 13, 2022 (with a press opening on Saturday, May 14 at 8pm) and runs through Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, 18000 Park Plaza Drive in Cerritos.  

Dear Evan Hansen has been a long-awaited show for this reviewer and it did not disappoint. The show was inspired by the true story of Benj Pasek, the show's lyricist, who, after a high school classmate died of a drug overdose, witnessed classmates tell false stories of being part of the deceased student's life.

Up next for 3-D Theatrical, Tony Award-winning NEWSIES opens May 14, 2022 at Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (with a preview on Friday, May 13th). No stranger to the lead role of Jack Kelly, Dillon Klena reprises his role from two earlier productions.

DPAC has announced the finalists for Triangle Rising Stars, central North Carolina's High School Musical Theatre Awards that will take place on May 11th, 2022 at 7:30 PM with special guest host, Clay Aiken.

Talia Suskauer will assume the role of Elphaba; Tony Award winner Cleavant Derricks will take over the role of The Wizard; James D. Gish will become the production's new Fiyero; Tony Award nominee Clifton Davis will step into the role of Doctor Dillamond; and Broadway newcomer Mikayla Renfrow will assume the role of Nessarose.

The singles, 'My First Enemy' and 'Preaching to the Fire' are now available on all streaming platforms. Jordan has also announced that a music video for 'My First Enemy' will be dropping later today.
