The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and The Humanities Center at Carnegie Mellon University have announced the complete programming lineup for the fifth Pittsburgh Humanities Festival, taking place March 20-22, 2020 at locations throughout the Cultural District. The HBO comedy series HIGH MAINTENANCE, created by Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair, returns for its nine-episode fourth season FRIDAY, FEB. 7 (11:00-11:30 p.m. ET/PT). The critically acclaimed series uses The Guy (Sinclair), a marijuana dealer, to connect a variety of distinctly authentic, empathetic and insightful stories about the New York community, including his own. 

Vineyard Theatre's Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern and Managing Director Suzanne Appel announce that the company's 2020 Gala fundraiser will celebrate Tony Award-winning producer Daryl Roth and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel. The annual benefit Gala will take place on Monday, April 20, 2020, beginning at 6:00pm at 583 Park Avenue. Vineyard Theatre Board Member Sally Horchow will chair the event.

McCarter Theatre Center announces a generous gift of $500,000 from McCarter supporter and arts philanthropist Betty Wold Johnson, in honor of Emily Mann's thirty years as Artistic Director and Resident Playwright. Jacqueline Novak: Get On Your Knees, written by and starring Jacqueline Novak, has extended its limited run to October 6th, due to overwhelming ticket sales and rave reviews. This will be the final extension and the show must close on that date. The show, 'a standup comedy set that inclines towards theater (New York Times),' plays the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Hudson and Bleecker Streets), having transferred from the Cherry Lane Theatre, where the whole run sold out. Tickets for the inaugural Beach Road Weekend on Martha's Vineyard August 9-11, go on-sale Friday, May 31th at 10:00 AM. The three-day music and media festival at Veterans Memorial Park in Vineyard Haven will feature performances by Phil Lesh and Friends, Grace Potter, Dispatch, John Fogerty and much more. The festival kicks off with a special screening of Jaws, with accompaniment by the Cape Symphony.

Storycatchers Theatre, a non-profit dedicated to empowering justice-involved youth through musical theatre, raised more than $130,000 at their annual benefit held at the Casino Club in Chicago. Money raised from the event will go towards programming for the organization which includes performances, training, jobs, and community engagement.
