The Music Center today announced it will re-open The Music Center Plaza with a civic ceremony on August 28, 2019 and free public festivities throughout Labor Day weekend (from Friday, August 30-Sunday, September 1, 2019) following a 20-month $41 million renovation of the expansive outdoor space.
Cedar City's Neil Simon Theatre Festival Loses Its Name Amidst New Play Contest Controversy

Late last week, Sean P. Means of The Salt Lake Tribune published an article in regards to SimonFest, formerly The Neil Simon Festival, a play festival's name change and rebranding. SimonFest also holds a New Play Contest each year, a chance for a new playwright to get their work produced. With that contest comes an entry fee of $150.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the historic Drama Book Shop will leave its 40th Street home because of recent rent escalations. Today playwrights of incredible shows such as Oslo, Sweat, and others will appear at a signing to support the shop.
