The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival is excited to announce that New York City-based drag performer Yuhua Hamasaki (RuPaul's Drag Race) and actor James Yaegashi (Marvel's Runaways) will star in the Festival's one-time-only staged reading of Yukio Mishima's camp classic The Black Lizard at Provincetown Town Hall (260 Commercial Street) on September 29.

Parallel 45 Theatre and Interlochen Center for the Arts have launched an official partnership, bringing two artistic powerhouses together to provide cutting-edge theatre to northwest Michigan. The partnership features three components, including the creation of a six-week dedicated residency for directors and theatre-makers to create new material utilizing Interlochen Arts Academy theatre students. The premiere of this residency will be held March 12-14 at Phoenix Theatre on the campus of Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces casting for Disney's Tony Award-winning musical Newsies, an inspiring story about kids who fight for what is right at the turn of the century, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman and book by Harvey Fierstein. Inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City, this family-friendly musical follows the story of newsboys and newsgirls who dream of a better life and lead a crusade for justice. Just in time for the holidays, the score features fan favorites, including 'King of New York,' 'Carrying the Banner' and 'Seize the Day.' Newsies, directed by Molly Smith, with choreography by Parker Esse and music direction by Laura Bergquist, will run November 1-December 22, 2019 in the iconic in-the-round Fichandler Stage.

Tandy Cronyn will star in The Tall Boy, a play by Simon Bent based on 'The Lost' by Kay Boyle and directed by David Hammond. It will be presented on Saturday, September 28 at 2pm at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street) as part of United Solo Theatre Festival. Having won their award for Best Adaptation in 2014, The Tall Boy has been invited back to the Festival as a 'The Best Of' selection for United Solo's Tenth Anniversary season. In December The Tall Boy will go to Chicago for a limited run (December 5 -15) at Stage 773.
