Today, SHOWTIME Documentary Films announced that the latest feature from Emmy winning director Lauren Greenfield (The Queen of Versailles), THE KINGMAKER, will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival this August. The documentary centers on the indomitable character and controversial political career of Imelda Marcos, the former first lady of the Philippines whose behind-the-scenes influence of her husband Ferdinand's presidency rocketed her to the global political stage. THE KINGMAKER will screen at additional festivals in the upcoming months, followed by a theatrical release this fall and a world television premiere on SHOWTIME in early 2020.

There's no doubt that dark times are ahead for the people of Berlin in this faithful recreation of the tawdry 1998 Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of CABARET. Using the original Broadway sets by Robert Brill and costumes by William Ivey Long, this Ogunquit Playhouse version, running now through August 10, is rough, tough and gritty, taking the implied decadence and hedonism of pre-World War II Germany and attaching it blatantly to every denizen of the speakeasy known as the Kit Kat Klub.

Coming off their sold-out shows at Feinstein's/54 Below in New York City and Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles, the concert version of Dahan and D'Angelo's emotional and explosive pop-rock show STARRY, about brothers Theo and Vincent van Gogh, will be making its European debut this summer, August 12th-14th, at Edinburgh Fringe.

The 63rd BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express is thrilled to announce that this year's Opening Night gala will be The Personal History of David Copperfield, directed by the multi-award-winning writer, filmmaker and broadcaster Armando Iannucci and starring BAFTA Award winner Dev Patel as David Copperfield. Powerful, honest and uplifting are the three adjectives director Karla Hartley used to describe Alison Bechdel's Fun Home coming to American Stage July 17 through August 18. Not a traditional musical, it features Grammy-nominated songs by Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori and tells the story of family secrets.

The off-beat comedy is from Tony Award-winners James Lapine (Into The Woods, Sunday In The Park With George) and William Finn (Falsettos, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and stars Lucy O'Byrne as Sheryl, matriarch of the eccentric Hoover family. Mark Moraghan plays Grandpa, the role that won Alan Arkin an Academy award (Best Supporting Actor, 2007).
