Sierra Madre Playhouse is beginning our return to live performances with a series of one-person shows that we're calling the Sierra Madre Playhouse Solo Shows Festival.

On Tuesday, October 19th, actor-comedian-director Frank Ferrante, will receive the 443rd 'star' on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars in Palm Springs, CA.  Palm Springs Mayor Christy Holstege will present Ferrante with a proclamation acknowledging his contributions to the theater during his 35-year career.

To mark what would have been the 85th wedding anniversary of Harpo Marx and Susan Fleming on September 26, Marx Brothers Inc., the Los Angeles based, family owned, and operated company devoted to the legacy of the Marx Brothers, is pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of Speaking of Harpo, the autobiography of Susan Fleming Marx (1908-2002.)

Actor/director Frank Ferrante returns to his internationally heralded stage performance for one night only in AN EVENING WITH GROUCHO on Tuesday, October 26 at the Spiegeltent ZaZou, located on the 14th floor of the Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop (32 W. Randolph Street).

Karen Oberlin (Our Sinatra) is not only a delicious singer blessed with great musical sensitivity and excellent diction, but she is also a wonderfully passionate actor who can bring a wide range of emotions to every well-formed phrase. Some singers take great care to make sure the emotions land on the audience. Oberlin has a much lighter touch. She has the gift of making sure the emotions land on her and then allowing the audience to come to her. It's a wonderful thing to watch a singer stop performing and practice the much more difficult art of just being. Ms. Oberlin makes all the hard work look very simple.

Paul Phillips, famed Broadway Actor and Stage Manager has passed away in Naples, Florida of natural causes at the age of 95. Paul Phillips was born on October 1, 1925 in Pleasantville, NY. Paul toured the country and worked summer stock for many years stage-managing such legendary performers as Charlton Heston, Groucho Marx, Ethel Waters, and more.

On October 2nd at 4:OOPM PT, the 130th anniversary of comic legend Groucho Marx's birth will be marked on Facebook Live by host actor/director Frank Ferrante featuring phone-in interviews with an array of Groucho's family members, friends and experts. NextStop Theatre Company has announced their brand new outdoor concert series called a?oeThe Parking Lot Concerts,a?? being performed on Saturday evenings at 7:30pm from September 26th to October 31st.
