The 10th Anniversary Production of ROCK OF AGES currently playing at New World Stages (340 W 50th St), will extend its limited engagement twelve additional weeks, now playing through January 12, 2020.

Alonso (Wednesday, August 7).

When bookwriter Chris D'Arienzo's 1980s hair-band tuner Rock of Ages moved from Off-Broadway's New World Stages to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in April of 2009 - with a score made up of rock classics by Journey, Styx, Asia, Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, Foreigner and a bunch of others - it was, to this reviewer's recollection, the first Broadway jukebox musical to acknowledge the silliness of jamming hit songs into an unrelated story.

ROCK OF AGES will host special 'Yankees Night' at New World Stages on Wednesday, July 31 at 8PM, to benefit the Carlos Beltran Foundation. Six-time All-Star CC Sabathia will make his stage debut in a one-night-only cameo in the musical's 10th Anniversary production, followed by a special curtain call dedication by current and former Yankee players.

The complete cast has just been announced for the 10th Anniversary Production of ROCK OF AGES, opening this summer at New World Stages (340 W 50th St). Nominated for five Tony Awards during its record-breaking Broadway run, this return engagement begins performances on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 for a 16-week limited run through Sunday, October 6, 2019.

Can't Sleep, Inc., and Philip Sandstrom present CHRISTOPHER CAINES DANCE in the premiere of listen out loud / move to keep things whole, a new one-act ballet set to live music by Pauline Oliveros, Paul Kerekes, and Alison Taylor Cheeseman, and featuring advanced student dancers from New York Theatre Ballet School: together with a guest appearance by members of The Bang Group in works by choreographers David Parker and Amber Sloan and a solo by James Waring. Three performances, Saturday May 18 at 8 PM, Thursday May 23 at 8 PM, and Saturday June 1 at 8 PM at the JCC Manhattan, 334 Amsterdam Avenue (at 76th Street).

Performances begin TONIGHT, Thursday, March 7, 2019 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the 88Community Space Theater at Theater for the New City (155 First Avenue, between 9th & 10th Streets). Produced by Penguin Rep Theatre and InProximity Theatre Company, AFTER begins performances on Tuesday, March 12 for a limited engagement through Sunday, April 14. Just in time for Valentine's Day, Pioneer Theatre Company presents the romantic, Tony Award-winning musical Once, with music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova and book by Enda Walsh. Based on the motion picture written and directed by John Carney, the Sundance film-turned-Broadway-hit won eight Tonys, including Best Musical. The touching love ballad, 'Falling Slowly,' also won the Oscar for Best Song. It runs February 15 through March 2, 2019.

DANIEL'S HUSBAND, the acclaimed new play by Michael McKeever, directed by Joe Brancato, will end its commercial Off-Broadway run at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 St.) on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 7pm. It will have played 13 previews and 73 performances.
