The Gold Coast International Film Festival is offering a respite for federal workers impacted by the prolonged partial government shutdown; free screenings of Oscar-nominated short films in advance of this year's Academy Awards. The screenings, which are open to the general public, will take place on Sunday, February 10 at 6 p.m. in Port Washington, and Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Great Neck. A select number of tickets will be set aside at each screening for the government workers.

In celebration of four-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally's 80th birthday, producers Hunter Arnold, Debbie Bisno and Tom Kirdahy announce a new Broadway production of Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, starring Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winner Audra McDonald and two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon, directed by Obie Award winner Arin Arbus.

EMILY ATACK (The Inbetweeners, Dad's Army, I'm a Celebrity) will hit the road in Spring 2019 with her debut comedy show Talk Thirty To Me, a live memoir of anecdotes, impressions and tales of a comedy actor in her twenties. Emily will unravel today's anxiety-inducing world of scrolling through social media, swiping right and left, slimming apps, and the never-ending search for 'the one'. Her debut tour promises to be a truly hilarious, tongue-in-cheek look at 'having it all' and turning 30 in the millennial age.

With the help of celebrated guest artists-including Oscar, Tony, and Emmy Award winner Ellen Burstyn, Tony Award winner BD Wong, and Emmy, Tony, and Golden Globe Award winner Judd Hirsch-American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) raised $900,000 at its Fall Celebration welcoming new Artistic Director Pam MacKinnon and new Executive Director Jennifer Bielstein. The Off-Broadway League has announced that Terry Byrne was elected as the new President of The Off-Broadway League. Byrne is the first female president in the nearly 60 year history of the League. The organization also announced three new additions to the Board, including Dean Carpenter, Steven Chaikelson and Casey York.

 Returning to the Okoboji Summer Theatre Stage for his third year in a row, award-winning film and television actor Jay Huguley will star in Neil Simon's "I Oughta Be In Pictures," Simon's Broadway play, which premiered in 1980. Huguley most recently performed in the Okoboji's 60th Anniversary Production of "Boeing-Boeing," the 60s era farce comedy, last summer.

Irish Arts Center (IAC), the arts and cultural center dedicated to projecting a dynamic image of Ireland and Irish America for the 21st century, is proud to welcome back fiddle player Martin Hayes, "one of Ireland's great musical exports" (WNYC), for a week-long residency, April 25-29, to take place in and out of their current home on 51st Street.
