Music heals, music inspires, music transcends; artistic director Paul Caldwell has selected a broad repertoire of pieces for the 2019-2020 season that do all these things while also reflecting upon the times in which we live. Voting rights, racial equality and sexual freedom are just a few of the important topics the Choruses will touch upon with the songs and anthems they perform this season.

The USA's network prestige drama 'Mr. Robot,' starring Emmy and Oscar winner Rami Malek, will air its fourth season starting on October 6th. Watch the promo below!  Rami Malek stars as Elliot Alderson, a cybersecurity engineer and hacker who has social anxiety disorder and clinical depression. Malek won an Emmy for his performance in the first season of 'Mr. Robot,' and an Oscar for portraying Freddie Mercury in 'Bohemian Rhapsody' last year.  Watch the season four preview below!

Remarkably, it's been 40 years since legendary rock band The Who performed at Wembley Stadium, back then sharing the stage with the likes of The Stranglers and ACDC. This weekend's return - featuring a line-up of four support acts - felt like something of a homecoming festival for the band, made all the more grandiose an occasion with the addition of an orchestra for the headliners' set. With the very recent loss of Pete Townshend's guitar technician Alan Rogan, it was also a chance to honour his long-term involvement with the band and to celebrate life.

Jane, couldnt be here tonight, but asked that I share her remarks 'We love the thought of being called Trail-Blazers. It makes us feel current and something out of Marvel Comics.'  Neither of us has a good sense of direction, so we thought being called trail-blazers implies that we somehow new where we were going. So thank you for thinking of us as trail-blazers, rather than as museum pieces.  Of course, there were times, Im afraid, we got lost on that trail and were more bewildered than blazing.  We are still blazing, but we have had to cool down a bit. After all, we need to take care not to add to global warming.'

When David Taylor Gomes and Kyle Holmes set out to write an original musical for their students at Granite Bay High School, they never could have foreseen the impact their work would have on high schools across the nation. Students are reacting to having their voices heard, and the effect is monumental. People are clamoring to see and produce Ranked: A New Musical, which deals with the pressures that teenagers face today in maintaining grades, social status, and their fight to get into the college of their choice. Due to the popularity of Ranked, they decided to bring the original cast together for one more night to perform the show in concert style at The Crest Theatre. Broadway World Sacramento spoke to Holmes and Gomes about the making of Ranked and what we can expect in the future.
